DSO show tonight

Anyone going to see dark star orchestra tonight in NY? I'm really excited, I saw them last Thursday at a festival but I was so fucked up I barely remember it lol. It's so beautiful out today too it's a perfect day for a dead show! Plus I got awesome tye dyed yoga pants I'm gonna wear tonight they're siiiiiicccckkkkk!!!

Anyone else going tn??

They're awesome and Tickets are only $20 so why not? They never play the same set list ever, so it's always changing.

yeah the point of jam bands is that the shows are always different. idk if dso is different tho just cuz its a cover band, do they have their own material? other than dead. but other jam bands are like that for sure


its cool that the shows are always different, but it just sucks to think that you could potentially be spending money on an off night, ya know?

I'm not hating on it, I was just throwing out my opinion. I hope you have fun and all Stella but I enjoy the spaces between my shows, especially if it's a particular band I've seen a few times. It just reminded me of Sara for instance, who claims she's seen bassnectar some ridiculous amount of times already this year. Just seems like it would get boring, to me anyways. Like I said, enjoy yourself, I was just thinking 'out loud' not trying to harsh your vibe.

you have to remember that acts like jam bands and bassnectar play diff sets from night to night and there always diff. whats boring about that?

ive seen bassnectar 20 times and ill be seeing him 7 more times this year and i couldnt be anymore excited about it

bassnectar is like the one act in electronic music that approaches a show like that and plays a diff set from night to night, just like a jam band would. its exciting cuz its always new

Lots of people have a tendency to listen to the same music repeatedly. I've done this lots of times, and with myself at least, kind of ruins the magic. It's like doing L days in a row. It's good but it's not the same as when you take the time to enjoy the anticipation.

well thats why i love bassnectar so much

hes so good at changing it up, even after seeing him for the 5th day in a row, hes still throwing out surprises and keeping you on your toes, and thats exactly why people love touring with jam bands too

your not ruining the magic if the magic is always different. touring with almost any band/DJ is retarded cuz most of the time, its gonna be the same show night after night, but with jam bands and nectar, its not like that

It just comes down to preference. I go to shows for a unique experiences more than the artist, or atmosphere for that matter which both are usually the case with most people. To myself at least, little variations aren't going to fulfill that need for me. Have fun and all, it's just not for me.

Every show has a totally different vibe and drug that you do there along with the set list and where you are sitting so the show is practically 99% different.
