OK...Yes THC is alc/oil soluble but it passes through the jack or vodka or whatever much too quickly for there to be any noticeable loss. I have also never tried this and dont think that I will.
Filtration wise-technically the smaller the bubbles and the longer the time they travel through the water the better. Hot water also is better I believe. Sometimes these elements are all not necessarily conducive to a good draught.
I dont like hot water hits as cold is much more clean and crisp feeling to me.
The best is a double perc with hot in the bottom and cold with crushed ice in the top.

Then if you are really looking for a little taste, whack a lime up and stick a wedge in there right under your mouth. Make sure it doesnt slip down but lets smoke through freely and is out of the way of your lips.

Spice in the water wont hurt but wont really make much of a taste.

I've learned some great, new, alchohol-free recipies from this thread. Sorry Resin if you think I'm a prick. It was unintentional. Perhaps I've been spending too much time in Political Discussion.

My comments about potency were made from personal experience; smoking pot through alchohol, and not from scientific THC extraction methods.

Is it potent? Sure is.

Is it wasteful? Well, I can think of better things you can do with whiskey.

Jack is definately worth trying. recalcitrant, the person who started this thread, wants to SPICE his bong water. Jack Daniels truely does just that. And it gives you a nice feeling in your throat when you pull your tube. I like to taste my pot, but there was a time when I wanted to make the seedy stuff taste better.

That is a cool link. Although I meant you lose a lot of THC when you burn a joint because it is burning the whole time... even when it isn't being smoked.

I was talking about the part thet burns without ever being inhaled.

I've always enjoyed the taste of good dank, that rich "green" flavor that somehow tastes like a pine forest smells.  Every once in awhile it is fun to change it up with iced kool-aid.  Grape is my favorite flavor out of the few I've tried and is strong enough to taste even after a few bowls.  :stash:

ok, if you're talking about the smoke that just drifts away into the air i get what you're saying. i guess you just need to find good rolling papers that burn real slow. its too bad they didnt calculate the total ammount of THC inhaled per gram smoked by each method, which would take the wasted smoke into consideration. either way though, its negligable in my opinion. i don't think ive ever finished smoking a blunt and said, "damn, i'm just not high enough, i wish i could have inhaled the smoke that came off the end." in the same respect i dont think ive ever really worried about the bong-water (or bong-liquor for that matter) stealing too much THC out of my smoke. good danks always seem to have enough THC to go around :-)

Eucalyptus (spelling) oil available at health stores is REALLY good, and actuallly helps clean out your lungs.  Boil water, add oil, put in bong.  smoke. :smile: INHALE! (just for you clinton-types out there)
