My thoughts are don't fuck with pharmaceuticals because of insomnia. That will not fix the problem. Probably make it worse in the long run.
What is the cause of the insomnia? Stress? Diet? Work? Porn?
Look at your diet and look at your daily activities, meditate, exercise..
If anything take something like Valerian root, or Kava Kava to relax. But don't rely on a drug long term to overcome it. Also make sure you are drinking enough water.
And not magnesium deficient...magnesium deficiency can cause insomnia.
