Was I robbed, or is my room-mate a piece of shit?

I'm on a mini vacation and our roommate is supposed to be watching our cats and stuff. He's a 'come and go' kind of dude, aka he's hardly ever home. He was watching our cats and feeding them and stuff. He has a lot of money problems from a recent DUI and has been selling pills to people although I've told him not to if he's living in my house. He texted me this morning saying the house was robbed. Someone went through his window and stole nothing but his xbox and a jar of coins in his room. The door to the rest of the house was supposedly opened, and the window was left open. Our cat got out the window, which is the worst part of all this. According to my roommate we were robbed. He's been addicted to heroin before and his new 'thing' is trying to sell hydrocodone, despite me telling him I'm gonna kick him the fuck out if I see one more of those pills in my house. He 'quit' over 3 years ago however, after a year of jail.

1) Did he leave the window open and forgot to close the door, thus the cat got out. He sold the xbox for money and made up a story about being robbed.

2) We were actually robbed, and they were after his supposed 'pill' collection. I don't know too much about his habits. They were 'gentle' drug addicts and wanted his stash and had no plans of robbing the rest of the house.

3) We were actually robbed, and they scoped the place out and are gonna come back with trucks to take all of my shit. I must re-iterate, NOT ONE THING in the house was stolen, besides his xbox.

It might be important to note that NOBODY but my landlord and my roommate knows we're out of town. My car is in the driveway.

Lay off the toilet. There's 4 cats in the house. One got out. He's not a junkie. I know I know, but he's not.

He says his computer and his xbox were stolen. Can't explain the computer, other than that it just broke or something. He was saying it didn't work recently.

The cat is from an animal shelter. He's not 'worth' any money. I have 2 kittens and another cat too that are all fine, and my family grabbed them until I get back.

Move away people, I'm the roommate expert in these parts.

After careful analysis, I have come to the conclusion that the cat stole the Xbox and bailed out after. Nobody suspects a cat.



Its most definitely 1 or 2. Its too unlikely to be 3

He didn't make the cat run away. He left the window open on accident and the cat got out. He also sold his xbox, and made a story about getting robbed instead of telling us he accidentally let the cat out. Allegedly.

That's what I thought. Why the hell wouldn't they grab my stuff? I have badass guitars and speaker equipment all throughout the house. The cat is black though, thus maybe this interpretation is true, good work Patlal.

I think he left his window open on accident and made up a story about being robbed by saying they stole the Xbox (which he just sold).

Maybe Patlal can give OP advice on how to deal with troublesome roommates. How deep do they need to buried, that kind of shit.

why would he steal his own xbox and then tell you he got robbed?.. doesnt make sense..

im thinking if it did go down the way he says it did then it probably most likely was some dude fiending for pills.. most likely someone ur friend knows, because that what friends do when they steal from you, they dont take everything in ur house, just small stuff that seems forgotten which they could pawn..  am i right, or am i right.. :eyebrow:
