Here are the top 15 pet peeves for restaurant goers.

Which one pisses you off the most?


Here are the Top 15 dining pet peeves:

1 Screaming babies and unruly children

2 Slow service and servers who go missing in action throughout the meal

3 Fast service, defined as restaurants that take plates away before diners have had a chance to finish them

4 No substitutions or accommodation for food allergies

5 Unexplained wait times for tables that are readily available

6 Menu typos

7 Couples who engage in excessive PDA

8 Talking on the phone

9 Dirty silverware or glasses

10 The refusal to seat diners until the last person has arrived

11 Nosy neighbors who blatantly eavesdrop

12 Rowdy diners

13 Indecipherable menu descriptions that require culinary dictionaries

14 Watered down, weak drinks

15 Having to ask for items that should be staples such as cutlery, salt and pepper, water and bread



For me, its 1, 3 and 5. Also, when I order breakfast in the morning, I like to read the paper and my breakfast is on the table before I get to read page 2... Like can you slow down a little, I'm want to read a little before I eat. Read my mind god dammit!!!

2, 4, and 15 are my worst of the bunch
I don't care about children screaming; I just pretend the food I'm eating is that screaming child and it feels better.
Just doesn't taste as good...

There are several that didn't make the list.  One being incompetent wait staff.
Like one time I asked for tomatoes on a grilled cheese.  The single tomato slice I got on it was ice cold, the cheese on the sandwich wasn't melted, and they charged me $0.40 per tomato slice, which they got me for three three at a $1.20 clip.
First off, what kind of sit down restaurant charges per tomato slice?  They actually have a tomato slice key on their registers?  That's asinine.  ANd second was being charged for two phantom tomato slices that were nowhere to be found.  And the last thing is they refused to remove them from the bill after I told them there was only one single, ice cold tomato slice on my not-even-warm supposedly grilled cheese sandwich.
Oh yeah, and all that was on top of the $1.20 charge for ordering off the kids meal.  Which isn't listed anywhere on the menu that that's what they do.  So my grilled cheese sandwich meal ended up costing $2.40 more than it should've.  I told my server he should be giving me a tip for putting up with him the whole time and the manager that their restaurant sucks and I'll be happy to come by on their last day of business to laugh at him for running it into the ground by being a fuckstick about tomato slices.
Bitches.

Edit Oh yeah and #9 is bad too, tells me they are rushing the dishwashers to "Get it done fast, not well"

1 and 14 are the only 2 that really grind my gears in a restaurant, it takes alot for me to get pissed though:shrug:

My biggest is overpriced shitty food. My mother in law wanted olive garden for her birthday. Fucking 25 bucks for shitty pasta!! Oh, well we put a whole chicken breast on it... UNCUT! for fucking 25 bucks I want a topless server to spoon feed it to me.

As a rule as by trying to be nice I try to not hats when I go inside of a nice restaurant. Long long ago when I had insane shaggy hair once I wore a hat inside a restaurant but besides that, I never have and never will wear a hat of any kind inside of a restaurant. I see other people doing it sometimes and I dont mind, But I personally myself dont.

My Mother in law wanted a family dinner at a restaurant for her birthday and picked olive garden. I would never go to that shitty restaurant by choice. I was going to just have the salad and breadsticks but my wife told me not to be a cheap ass and get something.
The lesson is "never listen to your wife"
pasta with just sauce and no meat is still 17$  fucking assholes

Fuck, you got it so good in the US, try getting charged for ketchup, BBQ, Sweet n Sour sauce in KFC/McDonalds etc.

Takes the fucking piss, I have asked for my money back and eaten elsewhere when they try and charge me for condiments.

nothing ruins a meal like unruly children.

i also didn't see people who won't get off their phones and engage the conversation. it's okay with some groups of people. like some of my really close friends and i do it while we're out to dinner. but we talk too. under other circumstances it's completely rude (i.e. a date).

i dont care about any of those things. my only pep peeves is being served, just can't get use to that.

we are human, we make mistakes and no one is perfect. knowing this and you tend to over look such things.
