I got a prescription for Trazodone

I saw my doctor today and explained some symptoms I've been having lately relating to back and neck pain and insomnia. After a discussion he referred me to physiotherapy and gave me a prescription of trazodone to help with the insomnia.

I did some research and after reading up on some peoples experiences I feel a little sketchy about taking it, honestly. The prescription was for 4 100 mg pills and I'm to take half a pill each day before bed.

Its just a trial to see if it will get me to start sleeping, if not he said he may give me something else.

Experiences?

First time i took trazadone to help me sleep, i took 100mg. I dont even remember going to sleep that night, i guess i passed out as soon as it hit me.

Now it just gives me really bad sleep paralysis and doesnt really help me sleep. Plus it makes me feel like a zombie in the morning. IMO it works for awhile then stops.

You should just say it doesnt work lol, i bet it wont work anyway. maybe you will get a RX for ambien

I HAAAATE Trazadone.. I got prescribed it for sleep a long time ago as well.. It hits fast and hard which is good, but it'd clog up my sinuses to the point I absolutely had to breathe out of my mouth all night which would lead to horrible dry mouth all night and then the whole next day I would be extremely drowsy and nauseous.

I started at 100mg and was eventually taking 150mg before I gave up on taking it. The doctor kept saying the nausea and other symptoms would get better and they never did, not one bit. If anything they just got worse.

I'm currently on Ambien after trying just about all the common things. I like it, I do feel a bit nauseous when I wake up in the morning, but it fades within an hour or two. I actually kinda like taking it every night because I get loopy as fuck. I don't want to compare it to a Xanax high (because it's not the same) but it is kinda on the same level. I sleep well and all night while on it (very rare for me otherwise). I also wake up within 8-ish hours on my own every day without fail. Most sleeping pills I take I'll end up sleeping for 12+ hours if there's not an alarm or something to wake me up. If you do switch, I'd recommend trying that one next.

Just to clarify, I don't take the Ambien just to get high or anything.. It's just a nice little bonus, it really goes a long way to helping me actually relax and fall asleep, not just be drugged unconscious.

Tell them you don't like it. You'll be better off with out that shit IMO. They will probably give you ambien or lunesta. Both work well but ambien is what you should aim for lol

Trazadone is kind of shit, but it's alright if you really need to sleep. My friend gave me a bottle when I couldn't sleep more than an hour or two every night for over a month after stopping daily etizolam usage. Don't go over 100mg. Took 150mg the first time and that was a mistake.

I use to take that stuff.
Talk about strange vivid dreams and odd boners.
About 6 years ago I did a few months in county jail and I would get trazodone during med call.
I would sell them for a small milk carton in the morning.:rockon:
Cold busters and Sleep aids were gold in that place.
