fertilizing contradictions

Hi everyone, So ive got two autoflowers that just sprouted 2 days ago. They are currently in small jiffy pots with MG seed starter mix. At about two weeks, I plan on transplanting them into regular unfertilized potting soil. I will be feeding them organic nutes from General Organics. Most people seem to say to not begin feeding until the seedlings are about 2 weeks old and even then to only use half strength. Okay, but how often should I feed? The instructions on the box say every week, but ppl from various forums say to only feed every other week. I'm confused.

it's best to figure you're plants needs without burning it, hence the waiting 2 weeks, as you become familiar with their needs you can adjust accordingly.
hydro is the way to go, a dwc is easy and an ebb and flow system can be super cheap if you are able to spend 10 minutes with your plant a few times a day, just keep the ppm's lower until you gain confidence.

Thanks! I wanted to do dwc since I had a bunch of hydro gear given to me.... however, the nutes that were given to me are known to cause problems with hydro setups. Soooo, I'm gonna wait till these nutes are gone before I switch to dwc. Going to get some non-autoflowering seeds too so I can do scrog. Okay, so I'm just going to start my girls slowly with the nutes and see where it goes. Here's another question.... with hydro, I've read that you should replenish the reservoir with CaMg water between feedings... should I do the same with my soil grow? Meaning, should I water with CaMg+ water between feedings?

scrog's are nice if done right. im not a fan of autoflowers, they just seem genetically inferior to most feminized seeds, maybe that's why their always free.

They are somewhat inferior..... the ones I am growing are lowryders ak47.... overall, it ain't bad. However, as soon as these seeds are gone, I'm waving goodbye to autoflowers.

Wait until you have at least 3 sets of TRUE leaves before giving the plants ANY fertilizer. At your earliest convenience plant the plants down to the cotyledens in your potting soil, you won't regret it.
Oganic fertilizer is OK, but even straight 20 miracle grow works, but use it in half the strength they recommend for houseplants. Oh one more tip, is to make sure the water soaks the soil rather than just pouring along the inside of the pots and let the soil dry to an inch or so before watering again.

Calmag is only needed if you are using reverse osmosis filtered water or distilled water. If you are using tap water it is not needed.
