very concerned of the herion i just IV'd. bad reaction

i've been in a lot pain and i just shot 1 bag near my left elbow
that hand is now quite swollen and i cant make a tight fist
now now my arm and hand are red and it looks like i have hives
btw, i shot in the direction toward my hand and i took 1 kpin 1hr before the shot

any info is greatly appreciated. thanks!

Ice it, take a non drowsy anti-histamine. Not a lot! You could also rub it on your hand/arm instead of ingesting it. Obviously your allergic to something it was cut with. If it gets worse you might need medical attention. IV'ing stuff is retarded especially street drugs.

ok so since i made this thread my arm has gotten better and better. it's almost normal now.
it freaked me out though because i never had any reaction like that before
it's very potent dope too
i've a few bags left i don't know what to do with

I was a H addict for a long time, sounds like maybe you missed a vein, used to give me horrible rash and hives but gone within an hour. or maybe got cotton in your needle, also extremely painful to shoot even if its just a lil piece

can anyone tell me exactly why people say u shouldn't shoot in the direction of the the extremities.
i've done IV's that way hundreds of times because it's so much easier for me to hit a vein. i've never had an issue before, and i don't think it had anything to do with the reaction last night. i did another bag this morning without taking any benzo and there wasn't any bad reaction. i still felt the kpin from last night though.

man i got so fucked up last night because of that kpin. it was a bit too much. i really don't care for benzos at all. that was my very first time taking one with dope.

edit: btw i didn't actually have pain in my arm from the IV. the pain was what drove me to procure the dope in the first place. i now see how my first post could be misleading in that regard.

You dont shoot away from the heart, because these are veins, they are carrying blood back to the heart.

If you shoot towards your hand, you are injecting against the flow of blood. And it can easily cause blowouts.


Do you tie off when you shoot? If you tie off, make sure to untie BEFRORE pushing down. This is key.


Also, if it just good dope and you arent used to it, it is probably just a histamine reaction. Some bendryl helps that, and helps with the nod.

OP: you hit an artery, did the tips of your fingers start hurting? That happens when the drug particles start flowing through the capillaries and are bigger than them. This can also result in clogs and possibly kill the area, needing amputation.

I've hit arteries before and they hurt/burn like a motherfucker and the extremity of the limb I shot up will get extremely swollen. Keep the limb above the heart, and I forgot whether you use hot or cold water. If the swelling doesn't go down after a while (1-2 hours?) go to the hospital. Just for future reference. Luckily all the times that happened to me the swelling went away after a while.

I remember the first (and one of the only) times I ever took a bad shot.


Horribly enough, I was in the bathroom at work. I get the shot in, and almost instantly, the area around the shot swelled up like a golf ball, and turned color. I was freaking out. Didn't even know that could happen.



So very glad i don't do that shit anymore. I remember how horrible I felt about myself after a while, with all the track marks, and having to constantly find new veins, because the old ones weren't working anymore. :frown:


My shooting career ended with a blood infection and months in the hospital. (Always clean your rigs well, if you re-use them.) Over a decade later, you can still see the "sweet spots" on my arms.




Good luck, OP. No hate or judgment, but maybe you could look at this as a wakeup call, and change your ROA. Just a thought. :shrug:

Yea dude I was an addict for years and that would happen to me all the time I always figured that I got most of it in the vein but a little got out and caused it but that was just a guess but don't worry about it it's just normal for the most part and gone soon after.
