I bought the first film because it was cheap in asda, and to me it was OK, though im not very educated in good script writing and films so i cannot say it was a bad film, it wasnt a bad film i enjoyed it.#

My girlfriend loves the series but not the english dubbed version. But the original sweddish version with subtitles.

My opinion is that they are good films, my girlfriends opinion is they are brilliant.

I read all the books. They were pretty good.

In Sweden they have made all three movies. I saw some of these with subtitles. According to the poster above they also released dubbed versions. IMO dubbed movies are almost always bad.

In the American version they have only made the first movie, but Daniel Craig is signed up to appear in the other two. Lisbeth Salander is played by Rooney Mara. An interesting sidenote about her is that one of her grandfathers is Art Rooney who founded the Pittsburgh Steelers, and her other grandfather is Wellington Mara who founded the NY Giants.

Some of the reviewers have said that Noomi Rapace who plays Lisbeth in the Swedish versions is more effective at capturing the unique and strange qualities of the character. However, Rooney Mara is small like Lisbeth Salander in the book and Noomi Rapace is not.

The original name of the book The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was "Men Who Hate Women" (except written in Swedish)
