calling all French-speaking shroomerites

I studied French for a few years and had a natural talent for that ridiculous accent. It was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I don't know anybody who's French, so I've had no way to keep brushed up on this unique language. Considering I'm also required to study more foreign language for school, I have yet another incentive to brush up on my French.

People always tell me the best way to practice a language is to speak it with a friend. So I figured, maybe I should hunt down the French Shroomery and practice there. Any Frenchies here got a reference for me?

Learning french right now. Only know conversational basics. Using duolingo.com + memrise.com in tandem to learn. Once I finish both courses and speak/read better, I'm thinking of spending a month traveling around France and other french-speaking areas.

I speak french creole fluently I don't think you would understand it but Im partially fluent in french

Weird. I was talking to my mom about kids who are born in the US, but have Spanish speaking parents and whether they learn English properly and she said that when she was a kid, some of her cousins were born in the US and lived in a part of New Hampshire that had a very high percentage of French speakers. She said even as adults, they hadn't become completely fluent in English.

My sister has been doing the whole Ancestry.com thing, and it turns out that my father's ancestry is British loyalist who left the US well before the revolutionary war and settled in Nova Scotia. Meanwhile, my mother's ancestry is Acadian, from Nova Scotia. My dad's ancestors expelled my mom's, which is how they ended up in Maine and New Hampshire. Funny how those things work out.

I'm only aware of http://www.psychonaut.com/forum.php#francais but I don't know if it's any good.

I suggest you rent a movie that you already saw that is dubbed in french and listen to it in french of course but with the french subtitles on.
