Kobes injury...

I dont care much for the lakers but this sucks
A knee injury and ankle injury weren't enough, but a foot injury took Kobe Bryant out.

The Los Angeles Lakers guard was helped into the locker room Friday by trainer Gary Vitti after falling with an injury for the third time. The Lakers said the injury probably was a torn Achilles tendon and would have an MRI on Saturday.

"I hate it for Kobe. I hate it for L.A. I hate it for us," Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni said.

Bryant spent most of Friday night's game against the Golden State Warriors getting banged up but didn't leave until apparently hurting his foot on a foul. He writhed in pain before knocking down two free throws with 3 minutes, 8 seconds left in the fourth quarter, then the Lakers fouled intentionally to get Bryant off the court.

The Lakers held on to win 118-116. But it couldn't have happened without Bryant, who had 34 points, five rebounds and four assists while playing the first 45 minutes of the game. The Lakers trailed by nine points early in the fourth quarter, but Bryant and company launched a furious comeback. When Bryant went out, the game was tied at 109.

I never want to see anyone get hurt, but I never want to see the Lakers have another go at a ring, not that they would've won with or without Kobe this year.  The Jazz will be a good match up for OKC in the first round if OKC remains #1 in a few days.

I'm glad Tom Brady tore his ACL.  Never seems to be as good since then.

Too bad for Kobe. The Lakers were finally making it look interesting.
    They're saying the achilles is bad; 6-9 months. But at least if he can recover, he will go out there and play. He's not going to pull a Derek Rose. He may not be the same player when he comes back, but maybe he will develop a new style like MJ did.

    Early in his career, I was a Kobe denier. When they compared him to Jordan I said no way. It's easy to be a Laker hater, but he strung up all those MVPs, championships and scoring and his career became undeniable.

    I think this injury, and the Lakers makeup will stop him from taking that final step; the 6th championship. The Steve Nash move turned out bad, and he will be 40 next year. Lakers need to make some more moves before Kobe is old.

    I don't think anybody has a chance against OKC in the first round

Achilles injury is the 2nd worst injury IMO for athletes.

well ya obviously a spinal injury isnt a good thing.


Achilles and ACL injuries just effect your power and speed so much. Your injured leg is normally fucked for life after.

You can technically still call it a foot injury because the gastrocemius and soleus attach to the calcaneus...



I'd say ACL and achilles tears are among the worst, but I'd also include various compound fractures and rotator cuff tears, especially those affecting the deeper supraspinus tendons.
