We have? I have done no such thing. I was never assigned to the board of "what we as a spices are going to play." I was simply born, like all other animals, into an environment and am doing my best to survive in said environment. Unless you're one of those people that think humans aren't animals and we should somehow view earth/society as anything else but a habitat.

In nature (yes, humans and everything they've ever done in natural), most if not all animals face times of ecological instability. Many of these animals either go extinct or there population is significantly reduced until equilibrium is reached.

Look at humans for instance. The biggest threat to the human species it rampant human overpopulation. All other environmental problems such as climate change, deforestation etc all stem directly from the exponential, unsustainable population growth.

But the overpopulation can't go on forever. It's impossible. Eventually there simply wont be enough resources, a threshold will be crossed and the bulk of earth's human population will die out, be it through disease, famine or even genocide.

Homeostasis will continue to be in effect, just like it is and always has been.

All you people that go on rants about how 'WE'RE DOOMED' seem to somehow, someway think of humans as different to nature and universe around them. We are nature, we are the universe and ultimately will meet the same fate as everything else

As for there being no light at the end of the tunnel, mate, you have a chance to live on this world, a chance that many organisms didn't get. Not only that but you have access to food, water, amazing technology. You have the opportunity to fall in love, start a family, experience the joys of life. You might chose to take drugs, achieve epic highs, walk around in nature connecting with the other living things around you.

You can hope to grow yourself in a happy, healthy and productive human being.

But "hoping" something on behalf of entire species of animals is selfish and retarded.

There are millions of people in the world who are willingly handing over their money and power to the rich, and then complaining because they feel hey are being controlled. Every dollar you own is a piece of your power, so be careful who you give it too. Money gives us more say in our society than voting.

- Have you ever thought that it just isn't time yet for the world to come together and work as one?  And that by going down the path we are, we will totally smash our current system to bits, only to learn a lesson to help us live in a more sustainable way?  Seriously, this is something that I had a hard time realising. All these wars and shit, people starving, dying, disease, self harm and the illusion of separation are all gods way of controlling our population.
