How well can I train my Pandora

I just got into using this Pandora thing.  I know if you vote thumbs down on a song, that it knows not to play that song again on that station.  But I'm trying to make the Pink Floyd station play nothing buy Pink Floyd.  Has anyone managed to do that?  I keep rejecting and rejecting and rejecting everything else, and liking each Floyd song.  It keeps pulling out more non-Pink Floyd songs out of its ass.  I have the free version, if that matters.

I don't think it's possible. I got my devil makes three station down to mostly just dm3, johnny cash and the black keys, with the occasional random song thrown in, but I've been doing that for a while.

If I were you, I'd allow a couple other artists that you like play in that station. Keeps more of the randoms out and still gives you a good station.

Are you on a computer?  If so just use grooveshark, you can actually choose what songs you listen to.

True, but finding new stuff is more difficult.

I seem to recall doing something similar and having Pandora replay songs I had already thumbs downed numerous times.

Spotify has ads though.  I haven't used grooveshark in a while so it may have them now, but I don't think so.

Audio ads?  Both Spotify and Pandora have those, I can stand the visual ads, but the audio ads are what piss me off.

Yup, I personally like Spotify and do pay for their premium service. Best $10 a month I've ever spent.

The free version is damn good as well. There's a little trick to circumvent the ads. All you have to do is start a new song before the currently playing song is over.

You'll get an ad once about every 20 songs instead of 5. :thumbup:

I use Spotify and searched Pink Floyd and it seems to have only a handful of songs available. Just letting you know, so you don't have to bother with it.

Yea a handful of famous bands/solo artists only have a few tracks, but it's only a handful.

Thanks guys, but I'm using my cell phone at work.  I can't download programs on my work PC, as per corporate.  Pandora is cool, and I actually don't mind different artists, but I thought I'd try to train the Floyd station to play ONLY Floyd.  What's funny is after my break, when I made this thread, I went back and the first five or six songs were Floyd, Gilmour or Waters songs.  I thought I had it.  But then it started playing other artists again.  They play some really off the wall shit like Coldplay.  Really?  Coldplay?  That's like if you like LSD, you might want to try datura.

Grooveshark seems to work just as well on mobile, don't have to download anything.

Oh, no, none of those thankfully. They don't seem to limit skips on their radio stations either. I hadn't been on there in a solid 5 months before you brought it up today. Thanks for the reminder actually. I'm listening to their radio right now, they could expand their selection of genres, but it's still a lot nicer than Pandora imo. I've never been much for Pandora.
