Highway Accident

Me and my friend were going to a hill to go sledding and we were pretty far away so we had to take the highway. A while after being on highway traffic started to be clogged up and slow. We sat in traffic for 45 minutes before we knew what happened.

One of the big street signs hung above the road telling the name of the next town or turnoff fell on top of an oil rig truck. We didn't stay for long, we just kept driving after we were passed the accident, but from the window I'm pretty sure I saw a covered up body on a stretcher.

Somebody died, and it left me with a shitty feeling. That guy probably had NO WAY of knowing that his life was about to end in seconds. He didn't even have a chance, it was just cruel fate. There was also 3 bodies tonight found in a town near me, about 15 minutes away.

What fuck is with everyone dying around me all of sudden? Thank god it's nobody close to me.

I was 15 at a pizzaria with my friends and we heard a crashing sound and saw some poor dude on a motorcycle who got rear ended I'm not sure if he made it it was a pretty bad crash.  I felt so bad none of my friends ate any pizza after the accident

When I hear about stuff like that, my first thought is that the people who love that person don't even know what has happened, yet. I think my mindset is the person who is dead doesn't have a care in the world anymore. All the pain is on the living. How do you tell someone that?:sad:

had one like that recently out here, sign killed a coupe of people
and they had shit shut down for several hours

When i go on long road trips i frequently see bad accidents and it kind of scares me.  I dont know if its just our mountainous highways but it seems to happen frequently.

One time i came around this bend and saw a car that had flipped on its side at highspeed then hit a rock cliffside top first.

The whole passenger cabin section was all crumpled in and there were people laying there all bloody.... one looked like half his head was gone.... it was bad.


Dont worry there was already people stopped and helping, id normally stop otherwise.


the really scary thing was i didnt see the ambulance until like 10 minutes later coming down the highway.... some of those highway crashes it can take an hour or more for help to arrive.


Another time our main highway was shut down for about 12 hours while they tried to free a couple people still alive all tangled up in a heap of metal that used to be a car.  They were tangled up in there it took them 12 hours to get them out....


the good news is that we had to drive backwards down the highway in the wrong lane with a boat trailer attached for a bit in order to find a place to back in and turn around


it was funny waving to the guys face to face with us :smile:

I'm just not used to death, it doesn't really happen a lot here. My entire life nobody in my close family has died (other than a few house pets of course). I get put into a weird state when I'm in the presence of a dead body.
