I don't think Mr. Obama would mind that if tax rates went up on everyone.  I think they would enjoy having more money to spend and taxes really don't matter anyway because they are determined to outspend what they take in by a margin of a trillion dollars a year and nobody does anything.

You do realize, after making this statement, he couldn't get enough votes from his own party to pass Plan B, and he closed the house down for the holidays, right?

which would pull an additional $800bn in tax revenues while also raising taxes
on anyone earning over $1mil/year with the concession of "maybe the president
will talk to us next year about cutting a few trivial things from the budget"

No, all I'm saying is boehner was strutting around yesterday like a cocky asshole, saying "we are going to pass Plan B and Obama better approve it or he's responsible for the tax hike", and a day later his own caucus doesn't approve Plan B, leaving Boehner looking like a bitch.

The Plan itself is absurd.

how can I disagree :shrug: I'm pretty sure Obama will hike the fuck out of taxes, it's not possible for him to avert the fiscal cliff and slash his precious spending budget, Obama slashing his precious spending budget is like a spoiled brats parents buying him less Teramisu every night, it just won't happen without a big hissy fit.

He'll most likely hike the shit out of taxes. And guess what, the American people deserve it, as you said, for voting for such a stupid fuck. Consequences are the natural reaction from actions

Sadly the people who voted for Obama are not going to be the ones who suffer except as a residue of remaining unemployed.

The sequestration bill has Obama's fingerprints all over it.  Not only that but it has his signature.  This fact will not be reported in almost all media.  Another Obama tax hike about to hit?  The Affordable Care Act.  Just wait 'til you see that bill.  If you work that is.  If you don't you won't see any bill.  Why do we work, again?

Right, he signed a bill sent to him by the congress, a bill originating in the Republican controlled house. A bill that said if the congress can't agree on a budget plan, then the Bush tax cuts will vanish. The congress couldn't agree.

The American people voted for the guy who said at every campaign stop that he would raise taxes on people earning over $250,000. Remember the election? The one where the GOP got crushed?. Meanwhile, the GOP house cannot even send a bill to the White House that would prevent taxes from going up on everybody. Why, because that bill raises taxes on millionaires. They are holding middle class people hostage because they don't want to raise taxes on anybody, despite the fact that the American people want exactly that.

You got to at least get a bill out of the house before you can start blaming Obama.
