i received a snapper turtle from an acquaintance that could no longer care for him. so i went out and bought a  29 gallon aquarium and filter, gravel, etc. Ive become very interested aquarium fish and animals.
here's a few pics of my setup. id like to get a 55 gallon tank and some other cool freshwater fish/animals in the near future.so far Ive got one turtle, 3 goldfish and one crayfish my friend gave to me shortly after i got the turtle.

here is my little 20 gallon set up.  I plan on buying a 40 gallon froma buddy in a few weeks and getting that set up with some freshwater stuff.  I just have a few cichlids right now, nothing too special.

how long have you had the cichlids? i hear some of them can be tricky to keep alive.i want to get some tropical fish but im afraid my turtle would eat them. i already lose 1-2 goldfish a week.maybe if i got some larger fish they would be alright.

To my right i have a 10 gallon with one huge crayfish in it. to my left i have a 10 gallon with 2 aquatic frogs and 2 bottom dwellers.

( I would post a pic but im too lazy i mean high)
I have a 30 gallon behind me with nothing in it.


What do you guys think i should get?

I'm rocking a 40 breeder with 11 clown loaches, 6 yoyo loaches and 4 angelicus loaches.  They're becoming fat bastards and I need to find a 90 or so, a 125 would be perfect but too much loot for everything.  Over the past few years I got them to the point I can hand feed and pet them :rockon:

Ironically it all started with me going out to rescue a common snapper from the ghetto.  His name is Wilmer and he's been in my neighbors pond going on 3 years now.  (wasn't a released captive, just a rescue set up for a month or so)  He also hand fed on silk worms, or anything else you could think of.

Check out bichirs they're pretty bad ass, I'd grab up an ornate if I could. 



They'll outgrow your 30 though.  Check out freshwater rockfish if you can keep your levels perfect, they have tons of attitude and personality too.

I have had the cichlids for about 4 months now.  One of them is starting to get pretty big which I why I want to move up to a 40 gallon.  As long as you let your tank fully cycle before you get your fish in it there really is not much else you have to do with them besides feed them.

Do you know which lake they originate from?  Basicly what kind(s) you have?  Do you plan on trying for any babies?

probably too small for him, wasn't really "my" shark, my stepdad took care of him. not very good care it turned out.

I am not really sure, got them from petco.  my roommate who knows a lot about fish (has a 240 gallon tank) said he believe two of them are mbuna's, and then the other two are fire mouth's which are from central america I found out.    And I don't plan on having any babies while I have them in my 20 gallon.  Once I upgrade to the 40 I will start thinking about it.

Yea 240's badass, throw in a couple fx5's etc. :rockon:
It's like parking a car in your house weight wise.

dodgem, just a heads up I think CA's fight like hell, they may get pissy towards your africans as they mature and start to "divide the land" into territory.  It'd be cool though if you threw in some flat rocks and did a little cave over them, you might get eggs :thumbup:
