Really tho, Spotify is leaps and bounds better than pandora or last.fm IMO. The premium version is just amazing, and the free version gets the job done damn well.


Mainly I use last.fm for the statistics and social aspect. I prefer to listen to albums entirely as opposed to hopping from track to track by different artists, so I don't spend too much time with streaming tracks, but when I need it, it's nice to know it's there.

sorry pandora is shit.  Its all curated, and i don't agree with the taste of the curators, and then the related tunes are all dependent on other people's taste, which is basically shit considering the number of people who use pandora.

Grooveshark is the better alternative if you need to use something like that.  I use soundcloud.  Today was a good day there was like 5 new tunes on my feed that came out that were pretty good.

I am going to have to check out some of the alternatives. Pandora is alright but I get annoyed with all the ad's. And like someone else said, sometimes it just has a mind of it's own on it's recommendations. I liked 1 80's song and all of a sudden my station turned into nothing but 70's and 80's music.

Still a pretty awesome service but id like to check out some of their rivals. Had never heard of grooveshark until now

Pandora has a really limited music selection and I find it will always play the same shit over and over. I'm going to check out spotify as someone earlier suggested.

Spotify is good, MOG is a similar alternative, but agree with the others who are saying grooveshark.  It free, no ads, and you can make a song by song playlist if you want.  The worst thing about it is their phone app is only Android and isn't that great.  Tinyshark is a good ( not great) alternative to their main one though.
