How to stay entertained after quitting tramadol/kratom
    #17128063 -

I am stopping my use of opiates for a while, if not indefinitely. I have never been an over abuser of opiates. I began with vicodins. Then moved laterally among potency. Never moving up to percocet or anything "strong". I usually use 5mg hydrocodone to 10mg a day. I was able to acquire pure compounded tramadol at an insane price and had an abundance of about 50g of pure powder! Vics were now the past and I burned through my portion of T over a few months. I have swapped back to kratom. Taking 1g a day so far and its been about 2 weeks of straight kratom use. My sleep has been pretty shitty and if it wasn't for mass amount of weed i've been smoking and nyquil I'd prob be up all the time. The main thing I am struggling with is ZERO I mean ZERO fucking motivation! I have no motivation to complete any of my mass amount of copious school work and would like to know any ideas on how to get over this! I believe it was really bad for me because I used opiates to get work done and it just wound up getting annoying having to dose up and now its gone I don't care about getting more! I just want to have normal fucking motivation so I can stay on top of my game like I was doing when I was on fucking drugs!

It just takes time.

Opiates come with the main withdrawals that come on for a few days after stopping.  Then, they come with a whole nother set of withdrawals that many people call PAWS (Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome).

Its basically what your experiencing now.  B12, daily vitamins, Vitamin C, and excerise.  Forcing yourself to go jogging twice daily will be the best medicine you can take for energy during this time your going through.

Take some time to google PAWS and will start to better understand what your going through.

Just remember one thing, it will eventually be over.  If you start using opiates of any kind, even for just one day, you will be back to square one on this entire withdrawal thing.  I have a good understanding of all this because I have struggled with this same thing for many years.  I am currently on suboxone because I could never achieve complete soberiety on my own.

Good Luck!

Who has time to jog 2 times a day?  (ironically I measure my time spent on the shroomery as I say that)

Is tramadol one of those "you have to order it from another country, pay some sketchy jumping through hoops way, pray it clears customs, expect every white van you see to be comming for you" deals?

If you make yourself do it for even 15 minutes, you will realize its the most important 15 mins of each day when your going through withdrawals.  The problem is forcing yourself to get it started each day.  Miss 1 day and usually its the end of that good habit.

No, the tramadol was a domestic source and was way to easy to get without customs! Which in fact was the best hook up I've had ever. The plug is gone and might as well use this chance. I believe I am having this PAW stuff. I guess I'll wait it out and will do some exercise because I am just constantly bored without any motivation. The weirdest feeling. I guess I can take this to also get in better shape. woop

Not the best solution in the world, but....you might try Suboxone.

Suboxone is generally prescribed for those who are trying to kick the opiate habit but have a hard time due to withdraws, etc., or it can also work for pain control.  Suboxone is a narcotic, and as such it is up there with all the other painkillers, potency wise, but in my opinion it is better, because:

1.  It does not constipate you.  That's right, opiate users, no more pulling your turds out of your ass with nitril gloves!

2.  One 8mg strip/pill, which dissolves under your tongue, will stay in your body/system 24 hours.

3.  It is a seratonin agonist, so you do not feel lethargic like you do now.

4.  It is actually NOT addicting.  Paradoxically.  At first, you will feel a buzz, maybe even vomit, but the euphoria wanes with regular usage of Suboxone.

5.  Reduced withdraw symptoms, compared to other pain killers.  This means that 24 hours after you last took a dose of Suboxone, you will not be feinding for more the way you would if you were taking percoset or something stronger more regularly.

6.  No pill slavery.  Your life will not revolve around where you are going to get your next bottle from.  You will not feel the need to go into your local pharmacy wearing a ski mask.  Every pill popper knows the desparation I am talking about: you have none of that on Suboxone.  You are you, whoever you are, as you would be normally.

7.  Suboxone does not depress you or affect your mood negatively.  Oxycodone makes a lot of people irritable, but Suboxone does not.

8.  It does not show up on most drug tests, like the ones used by employers.  I get random UA's while taking Suboxone and never come up hot.

I have taken hydrocodone, tramadal, oxycodone, percoset, morphine, dillatid, darvosets, all by pill, and hands down I prefer Suboxone to all of these.  It is a fantastic drug.

The downside to Suboxone is that it contains another drug called Naloxone, which is notmally prescribed or rather administered to those who are ODing on opiates, because Naxolone kicks all other pain killers off of your brains receptors and makes all other pain killers null and void.  It is difficult to say how long of a life Naxolone actually has.  But I can tell you one thing: I got off Suboxone and took percoset 10's (each of which contains 10 mg of oxycodone, for a whole week, and did not even feel the percoset at all.  I quit taking the percoset and got off of it, because I was wasting it by taking it, when it was not working.

This will not be a big deal to anyone UNLESS you are injured and you require IV pain killers immediately for pain control, because your blood pressure is up to 190 and the Suboxone is not strong enough to kill the pain.  In that case, you would have to tell the hospital what you are taking so they can figure out an alternative for pain control.

Na no way am I getting on suboxone. I am down to a gram of kratom or less a day. I could probably skip it all together but I have shit to do so I am not risking that. I just need some motivation.

Suboxone is addicting as fuck!  Anyone that tells you otherwise is a straight up fool or just kidding themselves.  #4 is kidding themselves hard lol.

For people like me, who will likely never be able to escape fully, subs are great.

I know really now that I read #4 whole post I see many flaws in your post. Suboxone is very strong drug, that's why you prefer it a lot. Trading suboxone for a gram kratom usage would be like fixing a scrape with internal surgery.

What's up with the shit for kicking opiates being more addictive and dangerous that what they're usually used to "treat" for?  Seems to be a common theme.

I can honestly tell you its marketing. If a market exists chemist will exploit it anyways possible. This is seen in fibers, medicine, textiles, and basically anything. The idea of suboxone is to flood your receptors so that if you were to use while on the suboxone you will not get "high". Basically they want you to take their drug and not the one bought illegally. Honestly its all bullshit, I have watched almost every one of my friends addicted to H get suboxone to sell to dope fiends who run out or as backup for whne they can't get a fix, the problem is that drug addicts don't want the suboxone. Most people who use suboxone continue to chase the high of the first drug they preferred previously. However the idea was also to taper doses, and if a patient isn't showing improvement then tapering will not work. The only thing I have found effective is tapering! No way in hell are you going to quit cold turkey (unless under extreme will power) and go through w/d. I am also very interested in how kratom works. I have found kratom to be the easiest of all the opiates i have used to get off of. I am now down to .5g and can honestly say I can ust go without it, only about 3g left so in a few days its going to be nothing. Finally have regained motivation and can say I am quite impressed how well my detox worked.

  • Taper Initial Drug of Abuse
  • Move over to Kratom dosing
  • Stop all use of opiates besides Kratom
  • Taper from Kratom
  • (aide taper with benzos and nyquil for sleep)
  • Little W/D experienced.

Ha ha ha ha. Yes I am #4 and I am a little crazy I admit it, but I have been taking 8mg a day of Suboxone for a year, and I like it: it works for me.  Some days I skip a dose or get working so hard that I just dont have the time to take a dose and guess what happens?  Nothin!  No withdraws.  Now if I was planning on getting off of suboxone for good, I would taper it down, because i am sure I would have some nausea quitting cold turkey at full dose.

How is my energy level?  Put it like this.  I work 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, for two and sometimes three weeks a month straight.  I work around machinery, equiptment, pressurized lines, and dangerous chemicals, and my job is 75% mental.  I function perfectly fine at work on Suboxone, and I drive perfectly fine on Suboxone.

Am I an addict?  Yes.  Do I have chronic pain?  Yes.  I take Suboxone for chronic pain, because it works for pain control; at the same time, I admit I am addicted to opiates.  There is no deluding myself, or fooling myself.  I know why I take it.

Sorry if my advise didn't suit you.  I just thought that since it worked for me, it would work for you.  But its cool man.  Hope you find something that works for you.

Subs have a 36 hour half life.  Thats why some people can go a day without dosing.  Now... try going 3 or 4 days without dosing and still try to work.  Then tell me that there are no withdrawals.

I might be on subs for the rest of my life.  Its been 3 years so far and I have no desire to quit them to set myself up for another relapse.  But thats just me.

All good man it's some of the better advice but a little excessive. I think kratom acts similar to suboxone in a way, at such low doses I notice absolutely no high. I haven't taken any for a few days and everything is all good. If you are having problems getting off Subutex or whatever try out tapering and switching to kratom. I believe it is perfectly okay in a recovery setting to use another drug class to aide in your recovery some would say taking xanax to sleep would be insane and taking adderal to get through the day would be ironic but anything to get you past those first few weeks is worth it as long its not an opiate.
