The fireworks thread - post your fireworks stories.

So halloween is around the corner and many of us like to light off some fireworks.  I'm sure some of you have some fireworks stories so lets hear it!

I guess i should start with a story of my own:

One time i emptied out 50+ humeroos and packed them all up and wrapped it with a lot of duct tape.  me and my buddy put it in his garbage can and it blew off the lid sky high and put a huge dent in his can! LOL.

Another time i filled a tennis ball with match heads i cut off and when i lit is it blew up and sent flaming match heads raining down everywhere! pretty cool lol.

I have more but its your turn :laugh:

my buddies and i were playing with fireworks doing shit. well my sister hid my shoes and i said fuck it dont need em.

well they made a fire to continue to light of the fireworks. well somoene had thrown in the box that had a bunch of shrink wrap on it.

i ended up stepping on the fire and the plastic wrapped both of my feet together. 3rd degree burns on teh feet.

then i couldnt wear shoes at all and they ended up getting infected. so had to get to penacillin shots in the ass.

so i couldnt sit or walk for a good 4 months.

shit sucked

OUCH! man that sounds painful.

Ive had molten plastic drip on me before and it hurts!  i remember is burned a pit into my skin and got lodged there and i had to pull a chunk of plastic out of my arm later.

Didn't gumby almost get killed from a pyrotechnic show that he helped put on? I think it was him...

he poasted a video of the accident too, I'm gonna look for it

Everyone who love fire try this shit.

1. get 20 or more sparklers
2. bunch them up so they are all touching and stick them in the ground or pot or something BUT MAKE SURE THEY ARE ALL TOUCHING
3. light ONE of them and remove you hand
4. Watch

they will all burn bright as FUCK for like 2 or 3 seconds and them die its pretty cool. I put like 20 in a beer bottle and did this, after they all burnt out half of the fucking bottle was melted! :cool:

Used to play roman candle tag every winter was a fuck ton of fun running around a snow covered forest shooting balls of fire at your friends :laugh:

At my sister's wedding a couple years back we were having a party out in the boonies at my sister's husband's father's rod & gun club.  Well me and my dad went out and bought the biggest firework we could find and when night fell and no one was paying attention (100+ peeps) we lit it off in the field.  KABOOM it was spectacular and everyone shit their pants in surprise LOL!  It's still talked about to this day epic win!

Nah video wasn't of the accident. That was the finale after I got blown up. The whole experience sucked.... A lot. Right ear is still fucked and that happened in May. Good news is all the shrapnel damage healed. [

Even better: 200 sparklers, bunch them together (with just one band of tape), wrap them up as tight as possible with electrical tape, make sure the top one is sticking out a little bit. Light that one that's sticking out, back up then wait till it hits the rest of the bunch. Kinda looks like a miniature sun/star and it's a great way to set your yard on fire.

Sparklers can actually cause a lot of damage if you bundle enough of them together and... do thangs. Not saying you should check it out on Youtube or anything.

Back in the early 2000s me and my brother decided to make our own fireworks. We ordered all of the chemicals online in bulk (like 10 pounds per container) along with cardboard tubes a spheres. We made salutes equal to m-100s and 1/4 sticks of dynamite along with 3" mortars. We put on a few shows at family parties and the whole neighborhood would show up by the time we were done because it was so awesome. We rigged up switch boards to electronically light everything of. It was badass.

One day my brother was working on some new mortars in the back of the shop and decided to light it off behind the shop. It worked splendidly but the report was so loud that someone called in a bomb notice after he left. He gets a call about an hour later from the FBI. He goes back to the shop and the whole block is barricaded off for a mile in every direction. They question him. He tells them he was indeed making fireworks and not making bombs. they search his shop and take everything. Luckily they let him off with just a warning! He was on the news and everything. There was at least 3 government agencies there.

I'm sure he's on some government watch list now. I'm just glad i wasn't there when it went down.

Some friends and I used a blowtorch to light several hundred bottle rockets, got bright enough to turn out the street lamps around us

Threw a rather large box of poppers into a bonfire, they ended up flying everywhere

I'v seen some pretty beautiful explosions of mortar type fireworks that were underwater
