sennheiser hd650 vs hd280

Is the 650 really worth it? i have 280s but IDK if i should buy the 650s (499 dollars)

i've never heard of the hd650, this isn't to say it's bad, it's probably really good. but i have heard alot about the HD280s. when i was buying a pair of headphones, i was deciding between hd280 and sony mdr v700s. i chose the sony pair and regret it to be honest. the next pair of headphones i'm going to buy are definitely going to be sennheiser hd 280s.

^yah man the 280s are GREAT haha.
I got beats by dre and hd 280s, dres are okay for rap but the sennheisers are excellent for everything.

yeah and they only cost like ~$110, i had a look at hd650 prices, and they were in the ~400-500 range. hd650 seems to be more of a musical afficionado's type of headphone though. might not be worth the extra money.

The have great bass. Should be good for rap. The audiophiles will tell you their deep soundstage is ideal for classical and you need an amp to truley power them, and an amp does help, but don't listen to them. I used to have a pair before I got some good speakers and I've heard all kinds of genres on them and they rocked them all right from my computers and ipod output. You'll have to turn the volume on max though.

Good audio is always worth it. Don't buy drugs for a bit, get good audio, save up for drugs, ????, profit !

The SennheiserHD-280's are fucking awesome.  I have one pair with a broken cord (can be replaced) and another pair for my studio.  They have a really full, clear sound to them, and as someone said a lot of Bass. 

I regret buying Sony headphones (They suck) and Koss (They don't suck as bad)

Depends on what kind of music you listen to. But more than that it depends on if you have a headphone amplifier or not. Without an amp the 650s will barely be able to be driven by regular devices. With a solid amp the 650s sound amazing.

High energy type music is probably the 650s weak spot but it is great for everything else.

You should be able to find 650s more around $300 dollars. $4-500 sounds steep.
