Tit for tat. Maybe now you can engage once more in something relevant?

So now we're addressing the matter of whether or not extinctions are preferable for humans, instead of the faulty logic behind the way in which you want to attribute fault? :strokebeard:

I'm not sure if you're at fault for your faulty logic; all I know is that it has fault.

Failing to survive is one thing, being at fault for such failure is a completely different topic.

Nope, it's human's fault to ignore the usefulness of those.
Humanity is a fire that will cease when it consumed all up.

I think you're missing the big picture. Humanity isn't some unique, ultimate evil. We really are trying our best... it may be fucked, but that's just the way it goes right now.

If humanity survives this nonsense, it definitively will live in a different earth-ecosystem than that which brought it up...
We will not even know what we destroyed unless we will begin to miss and need it.

If humanity survives this nonsense

Humanity is just one tiny blip in the Earth's lifetime. You know this because I've told you. Humans will go the way of Rome. In 100,000 years, I very much doubt our species will exist. In 1,000,000 years I am all but certain our species will be long gone and the Earth will move right along with not a scrap of evidence left that we ever existed.

And in 5 billion years, the sun will run out of hydrogen fuel and expand into a red giant destroying the Earth. The orbit of Earth will then be INSIDE the sun. And that will be the end of all life here, including the pandas, yes. :cryariver:

:cryariver:

We're not that powerful. Your talk reminds me of the catholics during inquisition days insisting that humans are special and at the center of god's universe. And the stars, sun, moon, and planets all revolve around us.

Get over yourself. We are an insignificant force in the grand scheme.

4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.

No other species developed such differentiated misguided awareness like us.

Should that prove something ?

I agree, if we keep in track what we already destroy.
But I see our potential to not make it so.

Well yes, we have just 5 billion years time left to find a way out. Should be enough time then, right ?

As I said, I see our potential to make this world a better place. We have a choice to rely on our predator-ape genes, or let the world have part on our fruitful family-love genes.

Over 99% of all species that ever existed are now extinct. That is not the fault of homo sapiens. The average lifespan of a species is about 2 million years. Every species will eventually find itself maladapted to a changing environment, and die off, making room for other species to take their place. Yes, this even applies to us. Species do not adapt, they form offshoots of better adapted species, then disappear. We are not a cause or effect, but a small part of an ongoing process.

That's why I call the human race has crossed the border to being special

:blah:

:blah:

We get you already. Give it a rest. The Earth is special. God put it at the center of the universe. Everything revolves around us. We're so arrogant that we think the Earth is in danger because of us. :flowstone:

:flowstone:

and therefor are obliged

Bullshit.

If you feel obliged, you go right ahead and do your duty to the Earth. Buy organic food (or whatever this obligation you speak of requires) if you like. It's your money.

But speak for yourself. I feel no obligation of any kind to be other than the natural part of the ecosystem that I am. And I'll continue to behave as nature created me to behave, not according to some bullshit, made up "proper" code of behavior that you think should apply to all of us because we "crossed the border to being special".

What complete bullshit.
