Makin a batch of ganja coconut oil

Shit is the bomb! Way better than using butter. I got a different kind this time though, it's the Dr Bronners (yeah, he doesn't only do soap). Smells a lot more like coconut than the other I've used, so I'm eager to see how my brownies will taste.

I got a good laugh at the food co op when I went to buy it. Ziggy Marley has his own brand of coconut oil now. Gee, I wonder what market that is tailored to? He makes some flavored ones too, which makes me curious. Curry ganja oil? Sounds like the bomb! I wonder though if the flavor infusion would interfere with the oil's ability to carry THC though? Anybody have a theory on this.

Edibles are becoming my preferred means of ingestion. I still love to smoke, but food is so much more economical and low key. I can ingest easily at work, or around the womens who frown upon consumption.

How do you prepare yours?
When I made some I had it in a class container in a pot with hot water for 45-hr, don't know if that was the best method though.

I agree any Cannaoil is better then butter since it last long IMO.

that sounds amazing. i cook with louana coconut oil and it really doesn't have much of a coconut smell. kinda wish it did.

Yup it's the bomb. I've been using coconut oil for my edibles for a couple years now and Bronners is the same brand I use as well. :thumbup:

I do mine pretty low temp like just barely steaming for a pretty long time. I'll usually leave it on the stove for a day or 2, but just keep the temp super low not even on most of the time, just warm enough to keep the oil liquid.I do it in water. I usually add the oil to the ganja first and get it saturated, then add the water and bring the temp up. It works great and takes WAY lower temps than most people use. I've never had stronger. I use 1/2 oz of bud trim to 1/2 cup of oil for one batch of brownies. I get 16 brownies that I can eat about 1/6 of one to get a good buzz. Very efficient method. I don't smoke NEARLY as much since I've been doing this.

My local Whole Foods sels Dr. Bronner's as well as Garden of Life and another bran, the name of which I forget. The other two brands smell better than Dr. Bronner's. That being said, I don't think Dr. Bronner's cocnut oil products are bad. If a brand has only a faint smell, it's been deodorized.

Cacao butter is far superior, in my opinion. It's extracted from the cream inside the cacao fruit pod.

The Bronner's is the coconuttiest one I've tried, but I've only tried a couple others.

I've never heard of anyone using cacao butter. I thought you were joking before. What do you prefer about it? Isn't it expensive?

Having made a proper hash korai (lol. Hash Korai is a duck dish.) I can say that yes, curry and weed go together like sitars and weed.

I made a buttered chicken, which is a fabulous Punjabi dish, to which I chopped up the ganja and let it soak in the butter.

You will get high.

I use 1/2 ounce good trim to 1/2 cup coconut oil.

I first get the coconut oil warm enough that it liquefies by setting in warm water for a while

I then add the trim to the pot, add the liquefied oil and stir around a bit to get the oil soaked into the trim.

I then add enough water to float the trim nicely (doesn't really matter how much).

I then bring to a simmer, but just to a simmer. Maybe a little hotter for a bit, but not too long.

I like to bring down the heat and let it cook at a low heat for a long time. Often I will cook it for a couple days, just bringing it up to temp between work, sleep, etc, letting it again cool between.

I then strain all the trim out and run some water from the kettle over the trim in a strainer to get all the oil out of it. Pour, press, pour, press, you get the picture.

I then place the water and oil mixture in the fridge (or freezer if I'm in a hurry) until the oil solidifies.

You then have enough oil to make one really strong batch of brownies.
