lots of VERY BAD hash in spain, watch out for the black lumps of hash,
those are cut bigtime with henna and whatnot and besides giving you a headache and some intociated feelings, its a waste of money

HB - Spain is more tolerant than Southern California by a long shot.


There are some places that are more strict than others, but overall no one wants to lock up a tourist for possessing or smoking cannabis in Spain.  Locals might run in to a bit more trouble depending on the situation but overall the cops really just don't care - like at all.


Some of the most tolerant places IMO are in the South.  Granada, Sevilla, Malaga, Murcia is a big one,


No one in Spain is going to take you asking for drugs the wrong way.  I found most people older than 35 or so to be complete dickholes while most people below 30 were incredibly nice and awesome people.  Lots of Rastas in Granada, not sure about other places.

If I went again I'd stick to somewhere small - Granada was my favorite.

yeah definitely smell it first. have the balls to inspect, and if they get shitty then walk away

also, the best way to broach the subject is to ask if they sell anything else.

I know exactly the type of people you speak of because last time I was there they kept bothering us with their big boards of fake designer sunglasses :lol: Always wondered if there was a possibility they might be selling drugs :strokebeard: but was always kinda scared they might take it the wrong way so never bothered asking. How did you approach the subject? Are there any other signs I should look out for to tell if they're selling?


The thing is I know a guy who knows a guy who deals decent amounts. If I were to ask a random fake sun glass seller at the beach I'd just say tu tienes chocolate? which means do u have hash

I don't think you'd get in trouble for asking :lol: but u might get ripped off depending on the the person :shrug:

:kenthumbup: I think Morocco is actually 50-60 km from here which may exlain the decent and cheap hash.

If you speak English, Spanish is incredibly easy to learn.


The entire thing revolves around three main constituents -

Grammar: rules for writing and speaking, including morphology which in Spanish is very easy.  It's extremely easy to take any verb and make it "I, he, she, it, they, we, etc." as Spanish morphology (the way the word changes to accomodate different subjects) is extremely regular

Vocabulary: This is the same game every time with every language.  This is the rote memorization part of learning a language.  There are many spanish cognates with english but for the most part you just gotta learn and remember the words you want to use.


Pronunciation: Spanish pronunciation is exceedingly easy with a FEW caveats.  Every single speech sound that's in Spanish is in English, except a few.  Those being the stanard "r" which is the tt of butter or the dd of ladder, a movement where the tongue touches the aveolar ridge and not quite a "normal" english r; the trilled rr that you're familiar with, which sounds like making a machine gun burst with your tongue, the enye, the n with a ~ tilde over it and finally the j, which in spanish is the ch of "loch" or the ch that you hear a lot in yiddish, a bit guttural.








It is SIGNIFICANTLY harder for a spanish person to learn english (by factors of dozens I'd say) because English is HIGHLY irregular, EXCEEDLINGLY complex in its morphology and its word origins which come from Greek, Latin and a number of other sources, and finally English has many many speech sounds that native spanish speakers never make while speaking Spanish, so they have to learn an extra 7 vowels, and numerous new consonants or so in addition to learning grammar and vocab.



Learning Spanish from English is a piece of cake.  I'd say Esperanto is a great tool to go from one to the other very easily.

Yeah I keep hearing that Spanish is pretty easy to learn, here could I be wrong in saying that you could pick up the language by say watching a lot of TV shows in Spanish or by hearing people speak a lot Spanish some other way because I was in France not so long ago and I found after the 3rd week I was able to understand what people were saying a bit better than the first week eventhough nobody was teaching me. I figured I was picking up the language through hearing people speak it :shrug:

Spanish could be a bit difficult to learn just by hearing people speak it, because unless you're in a classroom learning from a teacher or at home learning from Rosetta Stone, people speak Spanish very fast, and for a newbie to Spanish it'd be near impossible to follow along.

That's generally how it's done, by younger sisters been in brazil the past 8 months. And she's fluent in Portuguese now.

I took Spanish throughout all of my high school years ...

Unfortunately, I was stoned through all of my classes so I remember very little Spanish now.

Your sister learned to speak Portugese fluently in 8 months?

She must have a really high IQ.  Speaking a language fluently usually takes at least a few years of dedicated learning for the average joe.

Children pick up EVERYTHING faster than adults, I think.  They are like sponges for information and tend to be unbiased about everything ...

When you grow up, you tend to THINK you know everything and filter out anything that doesn't fit with your point of view.  And it takes a lot more effort to learn new things.
