1, I love you.
You have heard that it was said, "You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy." But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes his sun rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. -- Mathew 5: 43-48
I particularly love the boldened bit, but included the rest to give context.
"Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the planl in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, "Let e remove the speck from your eye"; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see more clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. -- Mathew 7: 1-5
It staggers me how so many (but not all) mainstream "Christians" seem to contradict this message in the way they judge others.
And for one of my favourites, which espouses the ultimate perrenial message:
"The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, "See here!" or "See there!" For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you." -- Luke 17: 20-21
