This is so amazing!  I'm a big fan of birds, particularly large ones that I don't get to see in nature.  Fascinating link; thanks for sharing.

Gah, I want to know where that nest is so bad. I'm in that area at least 4 times a week. I basically spend most of my free time on that river during the spring and summer.

But I can also respect the fact that it shouldn't be known, it would be a shame for idiot tourists or kids to fuck with those birds and their newborn babies.

Well, you gotta think... If it's on the interwebs, it probably can't be too far from a building. Public park or something?

Edit: never know though. There's a big ass hawk's nest in a stadium light at a university near me.

The James River runs about 8 miles right on the edge of Richmond. All they would need is a high gain antenna to broadcast to a remote source, have that transfer to wherever. There's literally over 100 square miles that the nest could be.

As a side note, Richmond is the only city in the world that has Class 5 river rapids within the city limits.

I haven't checked for a couple of days now and I can't believe how big the first chick has gotten.  He's twice the size of his sibling now!

Edit: I guess she must of just been curled up or something.  Now they appear to be about the same size.

Anybody ever see a bald eagle in the wild? I saw my first a few years ago driving through Wyoming. He was sitting on top of a telephone pole.

I was like a little kid at the zoo when I saw him/her.

I saw a pair of them last week, was literally 50 feet away from it. I was driving my car to work (I drive back roads through a valley with farm lands) and there was one in a field 50ft or so away from the road and another in a tree prob 200 ft away.  It's really cool to see rare, beautiful things.

Houses? No buildings?

Were they mansions or just regular houses? I'm trying to narrow down the area where it might be.

Lol, it looks like they are fighting each other.

Does domestic violence apply to 2 siblings beating the shit out of each other?

Hmm, must be somewhere off of riverside drive. Unfortunately Riverside Drive is about 20 miles long. Cool road, Winding Road magazine (auto related) named it one of the top 10 fun roads to drive in America.

And yeah, before the eggs hatched the nest was about 1/4 the size of what it is now.

No, that's just the name of it. They do auto news and reviews. It just happened to be in one of their articles about the top fun roads to drive in America.
