Very awesome video that is worth your time. Its well worth watching even if you have no background in science as he goes through the basic chemistry and neurobiology of psychedelia :borat:

They're too busy getting high on their egos.

I've been to lectures where Nichols chastised users because they didn't understand the neurobiology behind it. :rolleyes:

That's like getting mad at sailors because they don't understand climate science and ichthyology.

Shulgin fits my alchemist-idol archetype with a more snug fit. Nichols has Shulgin-envy too. It's cute. :heart:

I loved his quote in Dirty Pictures where he said, with a twinkle in his eye, "I'm doing it the way they say I have to do it...  Working from inside the system."  Also of note is "I believe we produce the world's purest LSD."  Just being able to say that in public is pretty awesome, and there's a good chance it could be entirely true.  Respect.

would someone mind directing me on how to download this video? i've tried a few tutorials for chrome and it's not working. :mad:

There was one part that I find particularly intriguing. Basically he showed this heat diagram representing the activation of different signalling proteins (c-Jun, Erk etc.) and second messengers (e.g. Ca2+) in response to different phenethylamines. Watch this bit. It showed that the hydroxy counterpart of 25I strongly activates ERK but doesn't upregulate calcium levels. I can't wait for them to publish this paper and see their ideas.

Ditch Chrome, it sucks anyway.
FireFox with DownloadHelper addon, you can download anything.
