Regaining my identity
    #1586779 -

First off, i apologize for ripping on this forum. I'v grown to like it.
Anyway i have a prob but i didn't think it was serious enouph for support group central. I was incarserated into boot camp for about 8 months. Before that i was really into dreaming and the subcontious. I had excelent dream recall and could remember multiple dreams, in detail every night. I was also developing luciddreaming skills.
In boot camp i had to jump out of bed and hall ass every morning so i quickly lost the ability to remember more than a few details of a dream. after i got out a month or so ago i lost all ability to recall dreams. I thought it was the anti-dipresant i was on (celexa) so i quit taking it. All that did was put me in a bad mood, so i'm going to start it again. Anyway I really enjoy dreaming. Infact i think its more important than waking life. What do yall think i should do? Anybody had anything similar happen to them

Get outta boot-camp.

What if everything around you
Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you think you know,
Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection,
Is it all you want it to be?

He got out a month ago.

I don't know what you should do dude. Dreams have never been that important to me, although I can see how they would be very important to some people. I'm sure someone can give you good advice here or in S&P.

This reminds me my dream last night. After seeing what I thought was a video of Timothy Leary being decapitated I dreamed that I went on some fieldtrip type thing and there was a bunch of kids toys. One of them was a Timothy Leary action figure. I stole it. I don't know what that means.

There is a plant called Dream Herb (genus Calea) that supposedly increases dream occurrences, and is used by Mexican Indians to "obtain divinatory messages during dreaming."

Here's a link that will tell you more about it.

Also, I would recommend doing a search for websites on lucid dreaming and try some of the techniques they have.  I've practiced some of them before, and they helped increase my dream recall abilities.

Good luck, man!

if you are smoking ganja, stop for a while...
and taking some vitamin B12 before retiring can help dreaming for some folks...
also there is a way to stay longer in the hypnagogic state (i know, not the same as r.e.m. sleep, but...) by laying flat on your back in the dark & observing your thoughts (or watching your breath, whatever) while holding your fore-arm(s) up perpendicalr to the bed; as you start to drop off into a fully-asleep state, you arm will drop, which will jerk you back into enough of an awakened state to put your arm back up (googlesearch word: hypnagogic imagery)
