jeep grand cherokee 02 helpp

whatsup, i got my jeep 02, and i guess its stuck on four wheel drive permantly because i got like 3 choices for when im driving- 4hi - neutral - 4lo

my question is, which one conserves gas more and is just better way to transport normally.

ive been using 4hi since the begginngin an havent touched it but now im sick of wasting my gas money.

its a jeep grand cherokee luxury edition 02

so 4hi or 4lo?

No 2hi?

Low range is for towing and off road only.

Keep it in low range if you want to max out at about 10mph.

4wd will kill your gas mileage.

2 hi unless it's really slippery.

yeah no, like i have two sticks, the stick on the left side is only 4hi n then neutral n then 4lo, if there was a way to somehow put it on 2hi i would.

i mean i really think my jeep is like only 4wd

an the stick on the right side is just like drive reverse, like the normal shit most cars have when theres a stick

It is full time 4wd. There is no way to put it on 2hi like on the wranglers and stuff. Leave it in 4hi unless you are towing or offroad.

No 2WD option means it's full-item 4WD. Check it:

Yea it's a misfortune with that model. If you worried about gas, sell it and buy a reliable car. There is no way to improve the gas mileage greatly with that vehicle except to keep it at or above spec.

Buy a good air filter. Change plugs, wires, coils, fuel filter. And never run any oil heavier than 5w-30 since it will reduce gas mileage and not protect that engine correctly. If you use Mobil1, Vavoline synthetic or quarker synthetic, pair it up with a Mobil oil filter (very high quality), you'll get slightly better gas mileage, longer engine life, and oil changes will be every 5000miles or 6 months.

Take it from a guy who drives 100 miles a day and has have a handful of cars that ran past the 300,000 mile marker with factory engine and trans. :lilpimp:

Oh and I forgot, good tires make all the difference and are always worth the investment. Same with 4 wheel alignments

a better ide would be to sell it since the demand is pretty high on any jeep
which drives up the resale value and use that money to buy something more
economical

Read your car manual!
4hi for every day driving!
4Lo for torque needs such as pulling a trailer or off roading.

Also don't switch in between the transfer case options if you're going above ten miles an hour, preferably do it while your car is stopped.
