America is generally not considered to be a major player in the christian end times (as stated by evangelical christians such as John Hagee). The reason for this is that american is either considered to at that point be more or less synonomous with israel or else a second rate power. The antichrist will probably be eastern european, will come to power through banking/financial power/money but not by being rich, more like from holding a regulartory position of some kind as his background before rising to political power, and will most easily be recognized by presenting himself as an emmissary of peace, notably by brokering a seven year global peace treaty with israel. The EU is much more symbolically the new Rome than the US is for a number of reason that I don't feel like typing about right now.

Although my personal opinion is that the book of Revelation is crap and never should have been allowed into the bible.

OH don't get me wrong. I believe in a God and I pray 4-5 times a week. I just think religion is man made and spirituality is something humans feel as humans. But we pervert this thing feeling we don't feel or understand and it ends up being religion. The feeling i speak of is looking into the stars on a clear night and feeling an amazing rush of endorphins.

You reveal an ignorance of biblical understanding. Jesus did not have any super powers in any traditional sense, but was rather a conduit for the power of god, as were several others after his death who likewise performed miracles. The book of Acts is called so because it talks about the ACTS of the apostles...

I spent 6 years taking theology and have 2 more years to go. I use words like super powers becaue this is shroomery-the pub. I don't really feel like getting too deep.

i know someone who spent years studying theology. he doesnt know anything about any other religions except christianity. he teaches his group of catholic students what he knows and called that theology as well.

I am fairly conversant in Christianity, Judiasm, Taoism, Buddhism, and some forms of Goddess worship. I am mildly knowledge about about islam but every time I try to read the koran I get like five pages in and fling it away as it makes absolutely no sense at all. I imagine there is something to be said for the statement it has to be in arabic to count.
