What is Jimi Hendrix' best song?
    #15552841 -

My opinion, it's a toss up between Little Wing, Third Stone From the Sun, and The Wind Cries Mary.  Very hard to decide. :awesomenod:

Those are three of my favorites. My personal favorite is far and away May This Be Love.

Also, this version of Like a Rolling Stone is one of my favorite songs ever. I love the organ and the solo at the beginning.

Also:
Red House
Rainy Day, Dream Away
Villanova Junction
Voodoo Chile Blues
Midnight Lightning
Who Knows

Edit: As far as his "best" song, I'd have to say Little Wing is his best song.

As somebody who is completely obsessed with Jimi Hendrix

I'd say Machine Gun.

Little Wing isn't much "compared to the rest of his catalogue" in my opinion. It's one of my least favorite Hendrix tunes.

Christ I don't know. I have 880 Jimi Hendrix songs, it's hard to pick favorites.

Here's some good ones:

Heaven Has no Sorrow

Hear my Train a 'Comin

3rd Stone from the Sun

Angel

Come On

Message of Love

Probably the best performance of a song ever:
Killing Floor

and can't forget
Wild Thing

Sgt Peppers

Sunshine

If you wanna understand Hendrix and his greatness, you gotta look beyond the first 3 albums; and while Are You Experienced is my favorite album of all time, most of his "greatness" only comes out in his later, less popular, works.

If you wanna start somewhere, get Band of Gypsys, Cry of Love, and the Monterey/Woodstock albums. those are 4 of my favorites.

I'm a fuckin Hendrix nerd.

I agree with his performance of Killing Floor being awesome.  He also did Red House really well.  Little Wing is of course a great one and so is Castles Made of Sand.  Lyrically, my favorite is Bold as Love.

Red house from "Hendrix in the West" is a phenomonel 13 minute version.

I don't bother myself with such impossible questions such as "which Jimi song is the best?"

Pali Gap has to enter the discussion:

Whoever mentioned Cry of Love, I have to admit that is some of his most brilliant and beautiful guitar playing.  The song 'Drifting' is another real masterpiece.
