Gestapo Book

I just went on gashbook and its been scanning my photos...  I have some shots taken from a forest near here from a walk I went on it somehow worked out from the trees the location and sent me a message asking me to confrim if the location was correct.

I lied :hehehe:  Hopefully that fucks up their gestapo shit.

Luckily they don't have much on me, I've used fake emails, fake details all the way.  I wouldn't mind deleting it but the free messages to friends who are all over the world now is dam handy.  :mad:

That sounds a bit odd. Are you sure there is no other link to the location of the photographs? E.g. camera/phone with GPS functionality?

Dunno, theres no mention of the location on there at all by me or anyone trying to tag the location.

I've heard their scanning software is so sophisticated it can tell your location from photo alone now but I dunno really can't figure how it would do it or why its even coming up asking me.  Seems too invasive for my liking though.

Well, maybe they took the time stamp of the photo and pieced it together with your phone's location at the same time, something like that?

koraks is right.

if youre taking pics with a smartphone, it records a timestamp and gps location.
