how did you feel? what dose? 75 mg? It's only schedule 5 for a reason...

you tried gabapentin? everyone seem to have good feedback about it. But lyrica varies with people I guess.

how are people getting prescribed Gabapentin when you don't have what it is intended for (epilepsy)? What I'm trying to get at is how do I get prescribe it "off label"? From what I understand if I do not have the condition the medicine is intended for, a doc could not prescribe it (unless "off label").

Gabapentin is commonly prescribed for people with chronic pain as result of pinched or severed nerves. It quiets nerve endings. Many doctors are transitions their pain management approach to encompass the synergetic effect of using @multiple meds at low doses to avoid tolerance or addiction.

I had a gabapentin script for a few years for neuropathic pain.  It is prescribed for all sorts of nerve related pain issues like diabetic neuropathy, fibromyalgia, MS, etc.

It does have a super ultra high threshold for OD also.  I was ultra suprised when my doc kept doubling my dose every week until I was taking multiple grams a day.

It has a pretty enjoyable buzz with it, a lot like alcohol without all the garbage effects and hangover.  Dont know how to describe it other then kinda like alcohol, kinda like benzo's.  It will for sure knock you the fuck out at some point. 

I took lyrica for a few weeks but the cost was to much for me at the time (no insurance then) since it was a 'new' drug where as gabapentin has been around a long long long time and is diiirrtttt cheap.  I didnt notice much from the lyrica but doc said it was because I still needed to go up in dosage and what not, but with money being an issue I switched back to gabapentin.

as opposed to being prescribed an opioid? Is opioid sort of like the last resort? Because around where I live most people with pain issues are prescribed an opioid. I don't think doctors around here even know what a gabapentin is considering the docs I've seen have no idea meth is even prescribed at all, nor GHB!

I am RXed Gabapentin and you can definitely get high on it. It's not nearly as intense as a benzo high but you can get high. The most similar drug out there that I can think of is Phenibut.

I take 2400mg of Gabapentin a day, I have for about 3 years now. If I take anything 5 grams, I will have a nice sedating buzz. If I take more than that, I get a stimulating effect and can't sleep at all.

Anyway you don't wanna get addicted to this stuff. Having been through both, the withdrawals are 75% as shitty as xanax withdrawals.

Well a lot of times people take Gabapentin with an opiate just at much lower doses. Far mor affective than one over the other. However, if I've learned anything, any drug can be abused.

I'm assuming you take it for pain, but how is it as a muscle relaxer? I take 80mg of baclofen a day but I need something different, and I think the added pain relief of gabapentin would be perfect. At one point I was taking 120mg baclofen with 12mg of zanaflex on top of it a day. The time I was on that combo is a total black hole of memory loss.

No I was scripted it as an anti anxiety. It doesn't do nearly as much as a muscle relaxer as Baclofen does. I take 60mg of Baclofen a day on top of the Gabapentin.

Neurontin off label for anxiety. You must have a good doc who thinks outside the box. Baclofen for anxiety too? I have a medical device for my baclofen, but it's running on saline now. No way I'm going back after learning first hand I don't need it. Pills I have control over instead of a narcissistic doctor. I hear soma is good.

I got it from my psychiatrist. The baclofen I got scripted in rehab because it supposedly reduces cravings for drugs. Who knows. Now I am just addicted to it and have been for years.

I did some time in rehab myself. I have heard of baclofen being used for alcohol cravings by someone here. I guess it's a pretty good chill pill to take the edge off.

there's no contraindication taking gabapentinoids while on ADHD amphetamine drugs is there? I was hoping there was a drug that's dopaminergic/norepinephrinergic/gabaergic all at one but there isn't so I was told since amphetamine is dopamine/norepinephrine, I must find a separate gabaergic (which are gabapentinoids). I need a gabaergic for my OCD. I guess just don't take everything at the same time right? I guess amphetamine in the AM and gabapentinoids in the PM?

I am trying out something similar to GHB, called Gamibetal. See the GHB thread I posted in...

Gamibetal can be expensive since it isn't covered by insurance so I'd probably prefer something that's covered so I can either get it for free or as generic.

I ended up purchasing some Pregabalin. I have tried pregabalin and gabapentin both before and pregabalin just works out being both far more recreational and also far more cost effective and generally just seems superior.

There are some withdrawal and dependence concerns with these drugs and also some fairly common and fairly serious side effects associated with them.

I am going to be using pregabalin (along with a few other meds such as Tianeptine and Baclofen) in the next few weeks when I take a few weeks break from kratom.

I am physically dependent on kratom, and pregabalin (or, to a lesser extent, gabapentin) seems to be very useful for opiate Withdrawal.
