sweet, that plant used to be so much bigger but my dad went crazy on cutting all the plants on the property back, it was probably 3 times bigger.

erowid said that you can even smoke and make tea with wormwood. has anybody tried this?

Those pics do NOT resemble the wormwood I have seen, and I grew wormwood for a whole summer.

The latin name for wormwood is Artemesia absinthum. Erowid.org should have some good pics of live plants.

Occasionally live wormwood plants can be found for very cheap prices at nurseries and stores like Lowe's or Home Depot.

BE CAREFUL if you are trying to identify plants growing in other people's gardens. There are some Artemesia species that look just like wormwood, but are NOT. The one that comes to mind is a silvery colored plant called "Powis Castle". The leaves look identical to wormwood, but I don't think it contains the goodies you're wanting.

Good Luck,

YourHighness

That is wormwood, A. Absinthium. What one is looking at is a branch that is flowering, therefore one is not seeing the characterstic leaves that comes to mind when wormwood is imagined.

If you go to erowid.org you'll see that branches with leaves/flower like that are included in pictures/descriptions.
