Losing a few teeth
    #15327479 -

well fuck. apparently i didnt brush as much as a kid and i have just bad teeth with a disposition of getting cavities. anyway last time she says a few teeth are so fucked she needs to pull them out. i let her put a filling in there which is 15% tooth and the rest is filling. basically she said "start saving money for implant teeth or whatever they're called (screwed into the jaw bone) because its about 600dollars per tooth."

it really bummed me out. i dont like losing my teeth. and i dont have that kind of money. so what im left with is a future with gaps. im hoping in the future replacing teeth with iron fangs that glow in the dark becomes cheap and easy but as for now its really hopeless.

glow in the dark fangs are already cheap and easy, you just gotta make them stylish.

And I'm blessed with strong enamel, I've had one cavity ever. My dad on the other hand is just like you.

start saving bruv, either for the implants or some wicked awesome fangs. :yesnod:

I am in the same boat. I had horrible teeth as a kid and and can remember getting root canals for as long as I have had my permanent teeth. I brushed daily then but only in the morning and I never flossed because of sensitive gums. Lots of candy and soda as well.

I visited the dentist when I would notice a problem and pretty much kept my teeth looking and performing well until opiate addiction. So after about 3 years of depression/opiate dependency and lack of insurance, my teeth were really showing the neglect.

Earlier this year I got my 2 front teeth fixed (both post crowns) but the problem is with my molars, or lack thereof.  I am missing all four bottom molars. All four had already received root canals and the stainless steal crowns eventually wore through or completely came off exposing the tooth to decay until there is nothing left but the root.

On the top row I am missing the second premolar on one side(same story as bottom molars) and both molars on the other side are heavily damaged (broken ceramic crowns).

So basically, I cannot chew for shit.

One good thing is, I was able to get back on my father's insurance for another 2 years even though I am not going to Uni anymore. Thanks obama.

Our specific policy only pays half of the dependents bill and only up to a certain amount
each year($2500 IIRC). So I can only have so much work done each year.

I hope to one day default on a loan that payed for the bridges I need and all of the work that's going to go with it.

Yes it is op's fault just as it was mine, that is a given and doesnt need to be pointed out. Although genetics do play a big part in dental health.

Cavities are not 100% preventable.  That is a fucking dericulous statement. You can take every preventative measure there is and still get cavities.

I haven't been to the dentist in 5 years. I figure that if I brush my teeth twice a day and use mouthwash I shouldn't have any problems.

The last time I went to the dentist I had 5 cavities, but that was right after I got my braces off. I'm only going back to the dentist when I have some kind of mouth pain.

I think they are just out to steal your money

as a kid brushing your teeth is tedious and seems pointless. plus dentists were scary back then. what kid likes brushing his teeth?
