Have you ever wanted to just give one of these people a really powerful drug, partly to show them how great it is, but also maliciously to humble them? I met this hardcore conservative kid in high school. He had been home schooled up until high school and as a result had no freedom. I'm sure you know what happens next. The second he's out of his parents' grasp he starts to rebel. At the time I wasn't into drugs. We became friends and independently found our way into the world of the psychoactive. During a summer break our drug interests grew independent of each other. He went the mainstream route and I wandered into the world of hallucinogens. During summer break he was telling me about all the weed he smokes. One night we invite him over to get high on whatever was available. We got dramamine (I know) and weed. He took 5 dramamine (which he pretended to feel) and smoked some weed. We realized though, he wasn't really smoking. He was taking these tiny hits and releasing it the very second he took it in. We decided to coach him and he got mildly high, but really started freaking out. We messed with him a little bit until we realized how genuine the fear was and then we tried to help him. We found out that this dude wasn't the ultra-knowledgeable drug master he claimed to be, and he apparently wasn't getting high when he smoking seeing as he was really freaking out on weed. So whatever more time goes by.
Time goes by, I begin to frequent Erowid, I learn about Sasha Shulgin and I start to think maybe there is more to drugs than just shallow hallucinations. During all this research this dude is insistent that he knows more than me. He would try and correct me constantly. Now at this point, this dude had taken "an acid pill" which did nothing, eaten 1/8th of super weak shrooms that did nothing and get this, had been buying and eating construction paper which he thought was acid. The dealer told him you have to smoke a bunch of weed to feel the acid, so he was get mildly high (because he would never get more than slightly high) and he was assuming these effects were acid. Even though he was kind of a douche we were still friends. I was using a good bit of DXM at the time (which I actually had really good experiences on) and I wanted to introduce him to it, but the malicious part of me was also tired of his smugness and arrogance because I knew he wasn't as accomplished as he believed himself to be. I decided to give him 600mg of DXM. He takes the gel caps at the beginning of our last period. After school we get in my car and he's just beginning to feel it. Within ten minutes he starts to feel it. Immediately, horror, the dude was horrified and he was at 2nd plateau. He grasped the chair demanding I turn off the music and pull over. I do. He flings his door open and rolls out into a parking lot. Tears now streaming down his face, he starts screaming "HELP ME! HELP ME!" With people staring at me I force him back into the car (I can only imagine what they were thinking.) He was not even close to the peak and he was already sobbing in horror. I had no idea what to do. I took him back to my house and laid him down, where he was convinced we was dead and was about to be sent to hell. Eventually after a couple hours the dude calms down and I take him home.
We meet up at school the next week. I ask him what he thought. He shrugs and tells me "It was okay, I prefer acid." Just like that he had learned nothing. To this day we still talk and he still talks down to me like some old man. "I've been there man, acid really takes a toll on your body. It's only worth it for a short amount of time." I guess some people don't really change.
Anyway, I'm not sure what the point of that what. I guess just to tell the story, maybe some people can relate. Have any of you done this/felt like doing this? Did the person change for the better? Did he/she freak out and stay negatively affected?
