Actually, I have nothing against corporations or government in and of themselves. Any corruption or greed they exhibit, in my opinion, is a reflection of a flawed and/or dying culture and can be traced to deeper issues.

No, its just a reflection of human nature. Anybody who has that much power or money at their disposal is going to use it, especially since they can use that power to get away with doing what they please. If you dont believe me, then you should stick a sharpie straight up your asshole

I like how you said "no" without even asking what I feel the deeper issues are... especially since I actually agree with you to an extent.

Human greed and the need for power/control is a very real part of human nature - but it's a very confined part of human nature as well, one that I feel only emerges when humans are corned and threatened and when large populations buy into paradigms that create a sense of scarcity regarding the provisions necessary for survival.

This includes all modern economic systems that utilize compound interest as an inherent property of money distribution which, as time passes, not only devalues a nation's currency but also concentrates larger and larger portions of its wealth into the hands of less and less people.

I'm pretty sure they enjoy the work of :ancientaliens: in a hipsterish sort of ironic sense, for pure kitsch/camp value. I know that's how I enjoy it.

Now Ron Paul supporters, THOSE fools are stupid. I love how they'll ape his semi-sensical economic jargon and make grand statements about the war on drugs and then brush off his obvious irrelevancy and extremist viewpoints like they just don't matter.

Another stupid Shroomery trend is the skeptics, deconstructing every clause in a post and exposing its inherent assumptions, while offering no original ideas to move the conversation forward. They think they're so smart for talking in circles. :whatever:

Haha. Agreed. Ron Paul seems like a pretty smart smart guy I wouldn't mind being a part of government but the amount of people who think he's the cure-all to America's ailments if he gets elected to presidency is nauseating.

what would really be bittersweet is if, ron paul gets elected, which would be great, but unfortuantely inherits the current clusterfuck of the U.S. administration, and instead of being able to do great things and bring his great ideas to fruition, he spends majority of his term just cleaning up the shit stains that previous administrations have sprayed all over the walls

And then he'll get blamed for everything, just like that black guy.

He won't get elected though, his politics stick in too many craws. He wants to do everything that's unpopular. I just find it bizarre that he retired from congress to run for president. I always had his perennial presidential runs pegged as an extravagant form of job security in the House.

It wouldn't really matter either way. The president is a glorified general; he doesn't have the power of a king or an emperor. His power is limited and the only way he can extend it is to become blatantly corrupt or make people uncomfortable to the point where civil war seems like a viable option.
