New to N2O

just bought 24 chargers and a whipped cream dispenser (head shop was out of crackers)

it looked self explanatory and i know the major concerns (Low oxygen, no vit. b 12, etc. )

but when i put together the dispenser and cracked one of the chargers i heard a hissing noise and was like yay its in there.. so i held it upside down kinda and tried to breathe in but nothing would come out..

so i did another charger and the same thing happened,

so then i put one in and breathed in as i was cracking it and this seemed to work EVEN WITHOUT HOLDING THE NOZZLE DOWN. i repeat: even when i dont hold the nozzle down when i crack it it all comes out right there like a cracker..

i thought you could hold like 3-4 chargers in a dispenser? is mine broken? should i just get some balloons and put it over the nozzle while i crack it?

My dispenser only holds like 2, and the more you put in, the higher the pressure, and the colder the shit will be. I don't like breathing in super cold, dry gasses.

If your dispenser lets out all the gas as soon as you twist the charger into it, then something is awry.

Get a cracker, get some balloons, and go to town. It's much safer that way anyways. I have a much better time on nitrous when I use balloons anyways

Take it apart and put it back together, something is awry. Could be a bad seal, if not, take it back.

i dont mean to threadjack but i got a cracker the other day and have already messed up twice trying to work this thing... am i just supposed to barely crack it and let it slowly leak out and inhale or what? cuz last time it all just bursted out immediately, and all it did was make me uncomfortably filled with air and give me the airiest burps ever

YOU HAVE TO PUT IT IN A BALLOON

Step 1: do some research

Step 2: put balloon on the end of the cracker that has the holes.

Step 3: twist cracker tightly onto the charger to puncture the metal film

Step 4: SLOWLY twist counter-clockwise to release the gas slowly into the balloon.

Step 5: don't freeze your hands


Come on guys, it's not rocket science.

Don't use a balloon. Use a bag.

Garbage bags work fine. A balloon forces the nitrous out, making it hard to breathe in and out. You'll waste a lot of nitrous with balloons.

Get more bang for your buck with bags! :thumbup:





(Be extra careful though. Don't go sticking your head in the bag.... Suffocation isn't fun.)

Bag isn't wise, I never needed to use a balloon with my dispenser. Worked just fine taking it straight out of the bottle it was never too cold or too pressurized.

I have passed out from too little oxygen. I have to call out against the bag Idea because if I was to pass out and the bag fell over my mouth I could have possibly died.

I'll agree with you there. A balloon is safer in that respect. It will deflate and fall away if you pass out.

I suppose it's not wise to recommend such a thing to someone "New to N2O."

Yes, get some experience with the balloon. Then, once you're quite the nos fiend, you can move up to things like dispensers and (god help us), bags.

You don't have to put it in a balloon. That's just plain misinformation.

with a cracker, you HAVE TO USE A BALLOON.

I had already addressed the OP's problem in my first response. My second response, and the one you quoted, was directed at Natorade (I even know how to use the "reply to" feature). He does not seem to be using a dispenser.

Read the whole thread before you call me out.
