A real lion is something different altogether.  Not to mention those motherfuckers usually chill in prides.

Wtf would I be doing just walking around in the middle of the savannah anyway?

Getting some lunch!  Check this out.
3 dudes armed only with spears scare off a feasting pride and take their meat.  Fucking badass.

Skip to about 1:20 to see the action.

yeah seen that before, fairly wild!

When you're in the woods you're foolish to not have a large knife or machete. I'd not wanting to would have no choice but to cut the fucker neck, nose off.

The title of this thread cracks me up.

You're not playing a game of chess with the mountain lion.
If he's hungry or adjusted to humans (due to living close to urban areas), you're fighting for your life!

Personally, I'd assess the situation.
Make sure the lion doesn't feel trapped- if he does, give him a fucking escape route!

Then on with the whole looking big, throwing rocks, making loud noises, showing teeth, and generally acting hysterical stuff.

Then if he comes at me, he gets a face full of bear spray- immobilizing him and blinding him. (Temporarily, that is.)

At that point (and if he attacked, this must be one desperate mountain lion), I get the fuck out of there slowly and cautiously.
And definitely report the sighting and the incident. Most people don't go out into the wilderness as prepared as I do...

Nooo... A mountain lion will eat anything that it can catch, up to 500kg.  Running will not doing anything, neither will climbing a tree.  These beasts chillax with an 18ft vertical and 20-40ft horizontal

Word.  Well I do plan on getting a shot gun in the near future once I have the money saved up for a good one.  I feel with a gun I'll practically be invincible when it comes to the wildlife out here.  One strong gun that can blow a bear or cat's head off.

If you are fast enough... Carry a big knife too. That way when a cat the size of a man unexpectedly tackles you to the ground and captures your throat in the powerful death grip of its jaws, you can reach your knife, repeatedly stab the beast, and maybe scare it away before you drown in your own blood.

Use a Remington 870 Wingmaster (closest you'll get if you can't find an old law enforcement model 870.) ....If not, get a benelli.

The funny thing is most people never know what hit them, till their face is in its mouth getting peeled off.

I have a suspicion that sunglasses on the back of your head would make the cat feel like you are facing it.  Ergo taking away its feeling of concealment and surprise attack.

That's what the people do in the Sunderbans (sp?) of India. They wear masks or something on the back of their heads to try to minimize the chance of a tiger attack.

A shotgun is heavy, and many bears can take a shot from one without problem.
I just think the bear spray is more practical.
Plus guns aren't allowed in some parks, wilderness areas, and so on.

I love how mountain lions in North America is such a conspiracy.  The DEC can't admit there is any credibility to people's sightings but now they finally got a mountain lion in Conneticut.  http://www.cnn.com/2011/US/07/27/connecticut.mountain.lion/

Around here they are known for hunting livestock. When there is one in the area, the local farmers are usually willing to pay a bounty to anyone who kills it. I want to be that guy. Psilyguy, The Mountain Lion Bounty Killer. :sniper:

Im gonna do that sunglasses trick. Im still thinkin wtf im supposed to do about my mountain lion worries. Theres gotta be a way to get trick them out of hiding, maybe firing a warning shot.  Its sort of a bug thinking theres a lion around my woods that can just pop out of nowhere and come straight at me.  There are mad deers where i live though and ive yet to come across a dead one, maybe thats a good sign, or maybe a sign it is waiting to kill me.  :tinfoil:    im gonna look out for some tricks tho.  Theres gotta be a way to win against them.
