The US govt. doesnt feed 'its' children... Parents do.  Your title is misleading.

Are there any actual human data investigating this?

Or is an opinion piece the only thing we have?

So they detected BPA in people, in mothers and placental tissue.

By itself, this does nothing to suggest it's toxic, and more importantly, to determine or evaluate a safe exposure level.

The US government determines which products are safe and allowed to be sold, by selling toxic products to its people it is in essence, "feeding" it to them

The US govt. does not sell toxic products to people, other people do that.  You are implying that by not creating a prohibition on an item, the govt. is essentially feeding that item to kids?  Give me a break!

Everything seems to be toxic after careful analysis, so the govt can't ban everything... It tries its best to ban the really toxic stuff, but sadly, there are millions of products they have to check, their job isn't easy.

The fact remains that a lot of substances are toxic at some level.  The question is whether or not established regulatory values exceed toxic levels and cause detrimental effects in humans.

Toxicological animal models are not always relevant to humans or human consumption patterns.  Opinionated reviews extrapolating in vitro studies and animal models to humans are not always reliable.

The fact that BPA is an endocrine disruptor, and mimics the hormone estrogen in the human body, and can reaidly leach from plastics, and is found within >95% of humans and with a simple knowledge of hormones and high levels of hormones youd understand why its bad

"A similar correlation to human development is plausible. Indeed, BPA has been found in the bloodstream, placenta, cord blood, and fetal blood of humans at levels that are within the range studied in many of the animal models "

Quote:
My 11-month-old daughter loves her baby bottles and sippy cups (first-person narrative is from the viewpoint of Rebecca Roberts). But as I sit and watch her drink from them, I cringe, because I happen to be a scientist who studies a chemical found in those bottles and cups. I also know that some scientific research suggests that exposure to that compound, called bisphenol A (BPA), is detrimental to good health—something I can't help but think about as I watch my daughter use her sippy cup as a teething ring.

WELL THEN TAKE IT AWAY FROM HER, STUPID!  :crankynoweed:
