No underwear ?!?!?!!
    #14769697 -

Lol. The things done to save money

http://www.baynews9.com/article/news/2011/july/279003/No-money-for-underwear-Polk-inmates-can-go-commando

Quote:
It's neither boxers, nor briefs, for Polk County inmates - at least, not for free.

Normally, when an inmate is booked in the jail, they are given an orange shirt, orange pants and underwear.

In order to save money, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd has proposed making males inmates pay if they want their tighty whities.

Quote:
The cost-saving measure was part of the sheriff's 2011-2012 budget he presented to county commissioners Thursday afternoon. Judd said it will save the county $45,000.

Although women behind bars will still be provided underwear, the men will have to pay.

"For those who don't want to pay, they can let the breeze blow up one leg and out the other," Judd said.

I have to buy my underwear and I'm not even in prison. I'm surprised they get anything for free in there.

They're a basic necessity for women, but not for men.  That's not discrimination.  That's catering to need.

You could charge women for bras I guess.  That'd be pretty even.

Just because you're in prison doesn't necessarily mean you're broke.

true, but usually if you're going to jail, you were in some sort of money making scheme that went awry...I don't imagine many of them can afford the undies.

which brings me back to my original point of - I'm sure they don't really give a shit
