Post your bike 2011
    #14769711 -

It's that time of year again, lets see your bikes. My old roadbike got stolen so I'm in the process of building up a junker I bought a week ago.:awesome:

sorry for the shitty web cam quality

Raleigh Venture 3.0. I love this bike. It is solid enough to take on some simple trails/jump off curbs etc..., and still a great road bike.

Gravity Falcon.

Made in the same factory as Giant bikes. It's basically a Giant frame, with a different name on it.

Hell no you gotta respect bikes man they got too much history attached to them. They can get you from a to b and back conveniently around the city. I have a huffy with a fucked up front brake and shifter but i guess thats what you get for finding bikes and not buying them.

I need a bike.  I just had my ACL reconstruction, so I can't run for a year.

I gotta find a nice geared bike (I'm not a fixed gear fan, plus that just doesn't work for ACL recovery, it would be counter productive.  *takes a crap on fixed gears*)  Any suggestions?  Trek, cannondale, something like that but under a grand...

Maybe I can get lucky and find a used one...

:doublefacepalm:

Most thieves aren't needy...they just have a mental illness, that is being a worthless piece of shit.

I've had 2 bikes stolen in 5 years living in LA. Plus 3 from family members.  :crankey:  Thankfully they were cheap, my two were $120 and the other free. If I'm ever fed up with life I'm not suiciding, I'm just going to lock up a nice bike with a shitty, easy to cut lock, and then camp out with a sniper rifle. Hopefully I can get 10 at least before getting caught.

I'mma post mine soon. It's a cruiser/road bike hybrid. :awesome:

It's a Schwinn Passage from the late '80s or early '90s. Pretty sure it's my dad's, found it in the garage. The tires are largely dry rotted but still usable, so I replaced an inner tube in one and had to buy a chain since the original was missing.

But I have a problem. I know nothing about bikes, but I need a chain assembly tool to take out a few links. Are they expensive? Is it easy enough to do? I don't want to spend any more money cause I'm a cheap, broke bastard and don't know how much use this bike will get. I'm trying to ride today but I need to get this chain situation sorted out. Idk if the bike shop will do it for me, cause the dude seemed very judgmental when I asked how to change the inner tube, like I was retarded or something.

Oh also, I have another question. Check out the back tire. Do you see that little device at the back that has a tiny gear and sorta hangs off of the back? It seems like it's attached to the rear brakes somehow. I'm not sure what it does but is that required? I'm not too sure but I suppose I just wrap the chain around that piece and then the back gears?

I saved my lawn mowing money for an entire summer to purchase this bike back in '92.  I just had it tuned up last summer, and it is as good as new!

Seems like the majority have some type of road bike.

There are literally a ton of random trails and bikable terrain in the woods behind my house. Just dirt access roads winding through lakes and ponds and whatnot with endless mini trails branching off everywhere. It's pretty sweet. There's even a sloppy downhill track people made with wooden structures, but some are falling down.

A mountain bike was an obvious choice for my area.

I have a mountain bike as well, but it is currently not road/picture worthy.  It's not nearly as nice as my Puch...

This is what it looked like in it's prime, minus the fenders, luggage rack, and headlight:
