It has been a while since I watched yellow submarine, and I am not doubting at all its trippiness. I just don't think its mindfuck can even compare to say holy mountain.

Do it.  The reason it's the best is because not only because of it's level of visual trippiness, but the because of the message.  It's a very positive, humorous movie, which is ideal for a psychedelic trip.  IMO, the message is that psychedelics came along and turned a drab, black and white, hate-filled world into a world of color and love.  It exemplifies the very optimistic view that hippies had for the future at the time.  The Beatles come and spread the message of love to the world and the hippies and the establishment come together as friends in the end.  It's a pretty funny movie too.

we need a new tripping movie... one with updated sentiment.

sure the wall and yellow submarine and fantasia are awesome though... but... they aren't exactly accurate. And Blueberry is... sorta meh.

as for trippy animated movies I am partial to fantastic planet. I forget who but I know somebody here has a fantastic planet avatar and I always felt like letting them know just how much I approve.

Haven't seen every movie of all time, so I can't fairly say it's the TRIPPIEST.
It's trippy though; the bright colors work really well with some acid.

yeah if I had a nickel for every time I went to some new movie in the hopes of it having stoner/trip potential and being utterly bored and disappointed, I'd...well i still wouldn't have much because I rarely see movies in theaters anyway, but what I'm trying to say is I CONCUR

the whole story is trippy as fuck.

Guy kills a woman in first scene his subconcious blocks it from him to protect him cos he loves her, he is found half dead in desert with the indians he eats a hallucinogenic brew (possibly DMT based judging by the visuals) to deal with the issues in the spirit world to heal his broken soul, he thinks someone else killled her and hates the man. Through repeated trips and a final one together with the man he thought killed her he faces the ultimate truth that he killed her and deals with it in the spirit world and comes back healed.

Best part by far tho is the trippy visual scenes as the trip take over

I'm saying that in the race for cinematic psychedelic supremacy, the race is won by Yellow Submarine and that the second place runner comes in a distant second.
