Give me examples of how Spongebob "changed"

I've seen people said the show dumbed down after the fourth season or something, and I never noticed it ever being any different. Always had the goofy and funny stuff.

Give me examples.

The new episodes are just the stupid, silly and goofy spongebob jokes reused over and over, while neglecting the creative, intelligent and awesome side of the character

this is a common occurrence
they made a "dumb" character
so each year they have to make him dumber to keep things from getting stale
but it works for all character traits
- Mr. Krabs has to get cheaper
- Plankton has to keep trying to steal the formula
- Patrick has to get dumber
- Squidward has to be a buzzkill and fail at everything
so as the characters get pigeonholed they need to be put into stranger situations to keep things unpredictable

other shows do it too
- Simpsons
- Billy & Mandy
- Pinkey & the Brain
- South Park

Interesting.

The new episodes just aren't funny. The jokes are obvious and strained.
I seriously feel bad watching it like I should give the poor voice actors a sympathy laugh because their writers are horrible.

Carefully thought-out plot twists, irony, clever word play, genius translations from the real world into Bikini Bottom... Gone.
The first couple of seasons had some blatantly drug-influenced episodes as well and had many drug references.

It's a completely different show now!
You'll have to wait until I see some of the horrible newer episodes if you want a better rant.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm gonna try not to think about it too much. I just saw three episodes. Two post-Hillenburg episodes then one Hillenburg episode. I did some research this morning and saw that the drawings and voices changed for Spongebob. I can now see some of the differences, although the episodes were just not interesting.

I have enjoyed recent episodes. The Hillenburg episode was a lot better than the other two I saw today.

i think people just became more mature quite honestly

i assume you're around my age, so 19-23 somewhere in there.. the show came out at a strange time and didnt fade away before you got "too old" for it.
