Identifying Papaver Somniferum w/ Opium ***PICS ADDED***
    #14644885 -

Is there a way to identify opium containing poppy pod plants by visual inspection?

I have multiple varieties everywhere around my house.  Most of the plants look the same with around eight, 3-foot tall stems coming out of the base.  The flowers I saw last were orange, purple and red.

Is there a good online resource for identifying the characteristics of the opium containing poppy pod or personal knowledge documented somewhere?  Can any of the varieites make a person sick if consumed?
