Of course there are people in Iraq who want Saddam removed from power, just as there are people in the U.S., like myself, who want Bush removed from power. Of course, if they were yelling "Death to America, the Great Satan!" you'd probably assume that it's because Saddam forced them to.

That's rather offensive to democratic sensibilities. It is much more civilized and advanced to vote. Although, in the end, I'm afraid your right. And the USA sees your wisdom. They've sure 'got a gun'.

'a gun' is a lot quicker than all this civilized stuff. If it didn't resemble a child's temper tantrum on certain levels, it would be somewhat less revolting.

I think you have been on the bandwagon too long- you can't tell fact from fiction. You have allready stereotyped the prezident and I don't think anything he says (even in it's right) will be seen as good in your eyes.

I'm much more skeptical than you might think.  I don't believe everything I hear, whichever side it's coming from.  If I just blindly stepped on the band wagon, I'd be one of those idiots yelling "It's all about the oil!"  But I'm not.  I'm smart enough to realize that the reasons behind this war are more complex than that.  But if you believe we're just going to liberate the Iraqi people for their own sake and not expect anything in return, I think you're the one who can't tell fact from fiction.

I don't automatically dismiss everything he says.  I admit, my previous post was a bit immature, and I wish I hadn't said what I did.  I am even willing to believe that Bush is sincere about wanting to liberate the Iraqi people(but it's certainly not his main motive).  I just think that even if the intentions behind this war are good, the outcome could be disastrous.

I haven't read all of it yet, but from what I have read of it, it seems to be more of an attack on the Muslim religion than a justification for going up against Saddam.

The people in the south who are rejoicing are the same ones that were slaughtered during their uprising after the first gulf war when we failed to support them. I wouldn't use that as a litmus test for how central Iraq will accept the US.
