Dan Henderson wins Strikeforce LHW title

Watched Hendo at 40 years old win the Strike-force  Light Heavy weight title last night over Rafael Cavalcante via TKO..  Felt happy for him because the last time Dan was in  Columbus, Ohio fighting for a title  he got beat by Anderson Silva via submission. 

But in a way Henderson got his revenge because Cavalcante is a member of Silva's Black House team and taking a title from them as Anderson watched on has to be sweet in the mind of Hendo. I would have loved to see Hendo have gotten a rematch against Anderson. Blame Dana White for fucking that one up.  I think last night was validation on how good Henderson still is.  Good Job Hendo!

it was a good stylistic matchup for him.



Feijao, as you probably already know, relies heavily on his takedowns and grappling.  But this top-heavy style of submission grappling tends to fall victim to a superior specialist, like a world class wrestler.



Especially a guy who can not only stuff your takedowns, but take YOU down even better, AND knock you out standing.




It was a war.  I didn't see that finish coming but the possibility of it was suspected.




Henderson is always like, the litmus test for new top contenders.

The only thing I didn't like was Strikeforce didn't show the UFC highlight of him cracking Bisping's face open during the prefight build-up.

I think the reason i am so happy to see Hendo win is because he was one of my favorites in Pride and a double champion.  Then he came to UFC ,and lost to Rampage, then Anderson for the UFC 205 and 185 titles..  He goes to Strike force and loses to Jake Shields for the 185 title.  I just thought his time as a champion was up.  Was hoping he would pull a Randy and win a title in his 40s but had some doubts.  This win just makes me feel good to see Hendo on top again.

Big fan of Hendo. I haven't been into MMA long but he's been one of the blokes that have stood out as a classy opponent who can handle his shit. The UFC got rid of him, yeah? Why would they have done that?

He wanted a rematch with Anderson Silva and he kicked the shit out of everybody they threw at him along the way to earn that rematch, and then Dana White didn't keep up his end.. But i will bet you money if Bisping had won their match he would have gotten a title fight. But fuck it, he is the Strike force 205 champ, and all good in the hood.

No trash talk to Randy but how many title fights did he get to rematch losing against a champion? Henderson should have gotten the match over fucking Vitor Belford ... We all saw how that turned out huh? I mean no disrespect to Vitor but who did he beat in UFC to magically give him a title shot? Rich Franklin? Wait didn't Hendo do the same thing? Hendo deserved a rematch to avenge his lose, after he beat Bisping and knocked his ass out on queer street..  I believe  Dan may have fought different and this time come out on top.. But the world shall never know .. And this is no way an attack on Anderson because i am a fan of his, and he doesn't decide who he fights. He goes out like a champion, and fights who they put in front of him.

I mean look at Chael Sonnen who had Anderson beat for 4 and a half rounds, where is his rematch in the future?

Ah yeah I see. Randy has American 'star power' that's why he gets title shots, not because he's a top contender. Hendo isn't as big a name so he wouldn't pull the bucks like Randy... it is all about money at the end of the day. Bisping is the #1 fighter in England, that's a profitable market. I'd expect him to get a title shot soon if he can keep his attitude in check.

I believe I've read Chael is going to get another shot at Anderson once all his legal shit is over. Dunno if that was just a rumour or whatever. I still couldn't see Chael winning though. He's got one huge strength, his wrestling, but Anderson now knows what to expect and I doubt will let it happen again. I'd pay to see these two go at it again :laugh:

unfortunately Sonnen made it blatantly obvious he was using roids, and hence he was caught using roids from the post-fight test.



They have comparative pictures of him before other matches at the weigh ins, and it was pretty damn obvious.



Especially with the back acne.

Did you miss the CSAC reducing the punishment against Sonnen because they confirmed he was not on PED's, and was legitimately using testosterone for his legitimate medical problems?
