College Basketball: Bracket Busterssssss

I'm ready for brackbuster season, and subsequently, conference championships & selection sunday. I'm ready to dance, and ready to get shitty shittyshitty in the process.  After having a good start to the season with some big out of conference wins (3-0 against some solid A-10 teams, among others) my alma mader (ODU) had a few hiccups in conference play but have come back strong in february,as we usually do. 

As of right now, barring any extremely upsetting performances, we look set to dance with an at large bid (unless we win the CAA tourney, which isn't improbable).  Taking on Cleveland St @ home in this sunday's only televised bracketbuster game, and i'm reeeeeeally looking forward to having another chance to demonstrate to the nation that we are a solid team (crushed our rivals, VCU, at their 22-win-streak home court this past weekend on ESPN2).


Anyone looking forward to the season?  I"m surprised i haven't seen any NCAA threads yet.

I adore brackets. I'm a hokie and I think we'll pull out a 10 seed and have a good shot of winning in round one. They're not a deep team so no real run, but so much experience I'm sure they have a solid chance of making it to 32.

They're ruining it by adding all the extra teams.  It's going to be too much work to fill out the brackets and then whoever has to keep score of all of them at work, shit. 68 teams? They always have to ruin a good thing.

What is it just an extra 4?  I need to do some research as to how the new brackets will look.  Are there just more play-in games like that 1 that they usually do for the last 16th seed?

I think it's three more play in games since they already had one.

I shouldn't be saying 68 is so much worse but the play in games make the brackets harder to get in plus I bet they keep adding to it until it reachers 96 or whatever they originally wanted

For anyone watching mid-major play, GMU takes on Northern Iowa tonight and if GMU plays like they have been, get ready for too-much-goddamn-hype-because-of-their-cinderella-2006-run.

all i can say about college hoops this year is that Michigan State has been a complete fucking disappointment. Returning basically the whole team that went to the national championship and now they are on the bubble. truly disgraceful the way they are playing. hopefully they can run the table here and pick up a game or two in the conference tourney to at least get into the dance.

yeah i believe that was a 5-12 match up. i actually had ODU upsetting state in that bracket if i remember correctly.

Edit:  despite Cole putting up 35, ODU had a +29 rebound margin and took the game by 11.  Get read for us to fuck up yer bracket again this year.
