im ready to build (computer)

i made a thread earlier, but i am not ready to make the purchases.

heres what i have. what am i missing?

Not really in the mind to look it all over and I am lazy among other thangs right now.

You might also want to check out http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/ and post a topic there. Lots of great help available from that sub reddit. Good folks for the most part but then again, even nerds watch the superbowl... ya know for commercials. :laugh2:

Oh yeah, also link to the actual product not a search page from newegg.
Ah! looks like if you edit your links that include "&nbsb" at the end just delete the &nbsb from it. So the CPU and Grafx card link are fine the others are not.

Don't jump the gun, your excitement can overtake you and then... something could have been missed. I spent two solid weeks putting a computer together, well an hour or so a day and then of course researching newer tech as my last comp is fairly old teck.

umm... the link to the motherboard is deactivated... but it looks like a 775 socket..

If so it wont be compatible with that processor. (LGA 1156). Post the actual links

nvm I took the nbsp out of the links and they work
that motherboard/cpu/ram combo looks good..
kind of a crappy PSU... but at least you didn't pick an Ultra.

Get a western digital hard drive.
Is this in your price range? Look for a 7200rpm drive.

seagates used to be good but they have gone to shit
for case.. either an Antec 300/900/1200 or coolermaster FTW

When you get the stuff ready repost a final build and and how much money you can play with. Then when it comes to that grafix card we might be able to find something a little better, or tweak anything.
Although sometimes cheaper power supplies don't have all the connections for newer cards, at least the high end power sucking cards. Then you need adapters, basically a Y adapter for the molex plugs. I had a crap load of those in my last build.

Never ever go cheap on the PSU imo. That's just my philosophy when building a new rig.
The way I see it, they are connected to every component in the system.
Also cheap PSUs tend to die more than any other component in any system.
I'd always rather go overkill on the PSU and have more than I need than a cheap POS that will last 2 weeks.
I see lots of people doing builds and they buy all these expensive VCs and Mobos,
then settle for some generic $30 PSU made by three eyed cambodian children and get mad when the system breaks down a week later..
