Anybody have an account?

I live in Canada, So all we have here is the streaming version.
I find the selection to be pretty decent (even though the USA version has a TON of more content)

Thought, suggestions.....

I have heard Hulu is pretty cool to, although I'm geo-locked from using it.
I have tried using proxy servers...but they all suck, or get shut down :0(

i have netflix. in canada. its ok...nothign great. see if you can check out what youll get on ur comp before you sign up. you might be very disappointed. and search for things. dont just look at what they show you

Plenty to watch there and there are a few threads with recommendations.

I actually just switched to the streaming only version to save 2 bucks a month. I figure anything else I can download for a moment.

I find the rating system screwy though. To many like choices and not enough dislike choices. I guess if they had a "good to play in the background" rating things would be more balanced.

Since I got netflix I never use hulu anymore and instead use http://eztv.it/ to download tv shows and also pretty much use it as a tv guide. I should say I get no TV into my house except for one channel so everything is internet for me.

You know you can add movies to your instant que right? I like Net Flix. Sometimes they have new movies on there that just came out on dvd. But when your tripping you will never run out of movies to watch:)

Yeah but I can get movies that are still int eh theater my way.

netflix to me is just a good library of movies for cheap with some nearly new ones. Besides If I think of a new movie i go to netflix. It that within 30 minutes I can get a  new movie right away.


hold on... I think I am higher than I thought. Gonna step out for a bit, I am not making since to my self or spelling since correct.

Iv got Netflix in Canada, and love it. The movie selection isn't that great but still some good ones. It definitly beats renting movies imo and pays for itself

Just got Netflix Streaming for Christmas... it's great.  No longer do I have to suffer through the crappy resolution of free streams online or worry about getting cease-and-desist letters for illegally torrented movies.  :thumbup:

Netflix is great and all, but most people don't see how it can be such an economy breaker... Go to any small town and you'll find most of the family owned video rentals are gone. Convenience, my ass; people need that business.

What torrent client do you use?
I use uTorrent...and am able to encrypt everything + using a random port every time the client loads.

watch everything online. have it. love it. proly wouldnt do it thru the mail tho. takes to long, never remember to return them etc.:stoner:

I did that years ago.
Like I posted before i use http://eztv.it/ for new tv shows and netflix for older and some newer movies. After that I use (oh the new simpsons just finished downloading, hours before it would air here and already have american dad) torrents for movies that I can't get through streaming.

Of course my computer outputs video through a 27" tv in my room (or my new monitor) and another 27" tv in my living room. Add a media server which I would have but can't employ yet and I would be golden. Screw paying for cable and god fucking damn you nagravision 3, I had it all once...

theres alot of content that is unavailable for Canada. its ok if theres nothing good on tv and you still want to be told what to watch i suppose. just dont expect great results when searching for things. not to say they dont have some good stuff as well.

I really don't know and kind of think out netfix does not "have a lot". I still can find something to watch most of the time.

They don't have everything but from what I've heard they're slowly adding their entire DVD collection to the Streaming content.

I am a Canuck and just got the streaming one through my Wii.

Pretty poor selection in terms of up to date content.

But the documentary and nature section is top drawer. If you like BBC/PBS style docs its well worth it.
