i think im slowly becoming a benzo addict

in the past few months it been VERY easy for me to get the 1mg footballs for a buck. it started with getting 5-10 every week and only needing 1mg, maybe 2mgs.

now im buying 40+ a week and eating between 6mgs-10mgs a day which is FUCKED!!! i need to stop this shit NOW before it gets worse.

can i get any advice or some help with this? any suggestions?

Dude you're not slowly becoming an addict - you are, and have been, for a while now.  If you've been using every day for months, and constantly upping the does, you're addicted.  Seriously physically addicted at that.  Start tapering very slowly, benzo withdrawal can kill you.

I know its not the best idea eva, but Id love to bang a fuckin oxy right now. I used to get those tiny blue fuckers, like 60mg or some shit. Bang a half a pill and puke for 30 minutes then do your best to walk. Sounds :awesome: right now.

Withdrawl is the worst thing off of xanax. If you don't slowly get off of it, you're going to need more and more to keep getting that 'no anxiety' feeling. It sucks when you get off of it, life seems so... stupid.

There's so many problems with getting off this drug. The drug fixes a few problems (in those that NEED it), but produces more problems in those that don't.

Panic attacks, anxiety attacks, irrational thinking patterns, sleep pattern changes, mood swings.

Shit bro, get off benzo's.

Unless your life sucks dick and you can't function without it, which i doubt is the case.

This is coming from someone who used to take a lot of xanax for a while, and had to come off of it.

At those dosages you definitely need to taper the usage though, do NOT quit cold turkey.  Booze and benzos are the only two drugs that can cause lethal withdrawals.

^ Good advice. Going cold turkey will almost always have your body responding in a really really negative way.

so what would be my first step? just take less and less each day. so far ive taken 4mgs and its only 2pm. usually by 5 i would take another 4mgs. i guess ill chill the rest of the day and wont touch what i have then tomorrow just chill on maybe 1.

anything to help with the WD's?

what can i expect from WD'ing from benzos?

how long will it take to get back to a normal ground?

To get off of it, reduce how much you take. Take 1mg tomorrow, around the middle of the day, and try to stay away from anymore. If you start feeling your body becoming twitchy pop a .5 You have to lower your doses over time, like a few weeks. You need to keep reducing how much you take till your on .25 and your body is fine with having just that much in your body and it doesn't want any more. Than you can start skipping a few days in between taking benzos. Than go cold turkey. 4mg's is a lot for just the beginning of the day. 2mg's used to have me feeling 'good'... but we're each different.

Weed helps with the withdrawls. The body pains go away. Honestly it's about mindset. If your set on removing this dependency from your life than you can tackle through these pains and just try to deal with it.

Getting off this drug WILL make you feel miserable. Please do not do anything drastic while coming off of it, like killing your self :X If you need to talk, im a pm away.

Sadly, those are the WD symptoms. How long? No idea. Your doctor would help with that... but he/she wasn't prescribing them. :justdontknow:

I used to get 60 klonopin for $4 and 45 xanax for $4 every month. I told my doctor to stop with the klonopin
cause it's just too strong to be taking it all the time. She'd rather prescribe me the klonopin to take twice
a day needed or not than the 45 xanax as needed. She does any way though.
  But yeah, cut back and at least stop spending so much money on fucking benzos.

eh. thats why i stick to benzos once awhile on the weekends. or unless i have a panic attack of course but thts it, nothing more.

self control has nothing to do with "addiction".
